I think I may be the only person in the civilized world that actually enjoyed Freddy's Dead. ;D I enjoyed it, too. Excluding the final 10 minutes when he was outside of the Dream World, and how they killed him was stupid. But take out that, and I really liked it.

Wow, Part 2 and New Nightmare are in my top 4 of the series. That's a very different, yet interesting opinion, Nobunaga.

Part 5 for me, it was just too far fetched, an unborn baby's dreams, it was inventive though I'll give them that. That aside even Freddy's quips and jokes ran a little thin in this one and for me that's one of the thigns I always look forward to.

it might change if i can get a better versions of the ones i have. i have the original VHS tapes. and i miss parts. but those are the only ones i'v seen the whole way through besides 1 and my first movie. freddy's dead. but New Nightmare was good but bad freddy makeup and glove.

Looking at this list, can you really count New Nightmare? It was it's own movie and should be considered as such, it didn't have any real connection to the other films.
And Freddy vs Jason, I don't take any movie with 'vs' in it seriously.
If we're going to go straight off of the six films, I will have to toss my vote to The Dream Child. It did have some interesting dream kills, but aside from that it was just lacking in all departments.

As I said on the first page of this topic which no one bothers to look at because we're all to lazy to click the button, FvsJ was much more a Freddy film than Jason, so I threw it up there. The fact that New Nightmare has the the same director (Wes Craven) the same characters (Freddy Krueger & Nancy Thompson) and that it was about Craven trying to make a script for the next NOES film, I consider it part of the series ;D

As I said on the first page of this topic which no one bothers to look at because we're all to lazy to click the button, FvsJ was much more a Freddy film than Jason, so I threw it up there. I saw that, and I agree it was more of a Freddy film. But I was saying, it really isn't anything more than a poorly delivered fan's dream of a movie. I just kind of ignore the film, considering it doesn't really add anything to either franchise. That is true. But it was set in the "Real World", and was adding a new dimension to the franchise. It doesn't fit in the canonical context of the first six films, considering they were preparing to make another movie, and those movies were the series that we know as 1-6... and wow, this is getting confusing! I better stop before I get lost! Lol.

I can't believe part 5 was voted the most! I love that one! ;D It's pretty hard between part 6 and FVJ, I guess I'll get rid of both of em!

6 is so great though. The damage to Freddy's image had been done by that point, that's why the complete over the topness of that movie just doesn't bug me.
I feel you on FvJ, it's harder to watch each time.

For me - I'd be happy with 1-3 and New Nightmare being the only ones in the series.
I don't hink Part 4 is all that bad but I'm not too fond of the rest....

The only thing that REALLY bugs the shit out of me about part 4 is the actress who took the role of Kristen! She just so different!

I am going to ignore FVJ up there. I think that was just made for the sake of fan boy appeasement. It's just fun to watch. I'll stick to the "canon" of the first 7.
Long and hard thinking would make it between Dream Child and Freddys Dead. Dream Child so I have been told from ones who watched the documentary said it went through HELL trying to get made since New Line rushed it after part 4 did SO WELL at the box office.
I'll vote for Freddys Dead. AWFUL way to supposedly end a franhicse. SERIOUSLY, do all franchises END bad always? :S
And I like the rest INCLUDING the great Part 2 that people flog only because "gay" there really is no other reason. And I love New Nightmare which at least gave some redemption to the series after the horror that was Freddys Dead.
