I couldn't have said it better Greg. I too have discovered a lot of quality films i didn't know about or remember. The decade definitely beats the 2000's so far. Like you I think the 80's was the best decade for horror and pretty much every thing else.

Wow,nice to see my old polls coming back a bit! i wish I agreed on the 90s horror thing, for me it goes 80's(of course), 70's, 2ks, and then 90's. I love the great horror revival since 2000, there are so many movies that I love it's wild.

The only difference between decade preferences between you and I is switching 2k and 90's. The 70's is definitely my second favorite decade.

Candyman and Alien 3.
Candyman, as played by Tony Todd, is awesome. I love the look of the character, and his mannerisms, despite some of the movies being a bit wacky or just flat out terrible. Definitely one of the better introductions to the Horror Camp from the 90s.
As for Alien 3. I know, it gets A LOT of flak, and I too disliked it when I was younger. Alien sets us up, Aliens just takes it to a whole new level, and then when you pop in Alien 3 it just... you're underwhelmed. But a few years ago I was able to do my own research and, well, I discovered Alien 3 had a great deal of behind the scenes problems, so the fact it even turned out as okay as it did is amazing to me. On top of that, I've come to appreciate the return to simplicity, and some of the inmates, though nameless or short-lived, are appealing. I loved the "Your Asses Are Already On The Line" speech from Ripley.
To me, this is where the series should have ended.
