I really don't know.. I haven't seen anything that knocks my socks off yet. Robert E did a better job in my opinion.
I'll hold judgment until after opening night though.

Granted while I think Robert was better jackie seems creepy in his own way. I'm not a huge fan of seeing his face clearly though

New ClipVoice sounds much better and the overall tone reminds me of Fred Krueger from Nightmare 1. The makeup actually looks like a real burn victim and the voice in the clip above sounds like a burn victim as well. Can't wait for next Friday! Hype is getting to me but the script was pretty good. Much better than Nightmare 5 and 6 which had Robert lead. Give Jackie a chance and see the movie with a positive attitude. It will help even if the movie turns out to be garbage.

THATS FUCKING NOT FREDDY The makeup looks like fucking shit, looks so fake, like he's wearing a mask, and he sounds like he is talking with 5 gobstoppers in his mouth. That is a damn disgrace.............. I am totally disgusted.......................... His mouth does never open that is very true ;D It will probably dowell the first day or two. May fall flat after that. I guess only time will tell. He does never smile like at all. I still think people are overloving this movie a bit too much looking at clips and snippets. I'll reserve my ultimate judgment when folks tell me how it is after the theater

I'm excited as hell to see this. I'm actually going to see it in theaters. Which will be the first movie I've seen in a theater in about 3 years. It reminds me of the early movies before he became a joke.

New Clip, jackie seems good IMO ( But Robert will ALWAYS be Freddy Krueger but I am willing to give Jackie a chance and so far he seems good and spooky just like Robert in the earlier films) www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0yaKEdhToA

Now abraxas you gotta remember sometimes people sound different in trailers and lighting is edited in trailers as well to sell the movie better. For example in the Freddys Dead trailer when Freddy says " every town has an elm street!" he sounds awesome when he said it in the trailer yet in the film he sounded retarded. Never judge a movie solely by it's trailer.

I know how you feel mainly two stand out for me like Willard and Halloween. I think this will be good and be similar to the old Freddy who was scary

Not to mention that judging by the clips, he has the same humor as he did in Nightmare 1.

Honestly, I don't see this film as being scary.
Why?
Two reasons for two groups of people. The first is pertaining to the hardcore fans who know the series inside and out, they've "seen it before" and it won't make as much of an impression. The second is pertaining to the casual movie-goers who have limited knowledge of the series, so much of what they know comes from the later movies and how Freddy is more comical. I assume many of these are the same people who saw (and loved) Freddy vs Jason, so they'll be expecting that kind of Freddy.
Also, so many people are saying how they hope Freddy Krueger will return to his roots and being scary. I'm sorry to say, but I truly do not believe this film will turn me white as a ghost. I know what to expect, I've seen the original films, and I like Horror movies in general.
But, I will say this. If they do keep him darker, they're going to run into the same problem they did with the older films. You can't keep doing the same thing over and over, a change must be made to keep it profitable. Would you be scared of something if you encountered it all the time? At first, but over time you'd probably get over it. Sure exceptions do exist, but for the most part, seeing this remake expand into a trilogy, it'll be hard to keep Freddy scary as the temptation to cross over into a wider, more mainstream market is there.
In closing, I'm eager to see this. But I'm not expecting to be frightened.

This movie has a 6% on Rotton Tomatoes so far. It was 0% earlier.
I do NOT think they better EVER make a sequel to this. It will fall just as flat as RZ Halloween sequel did. I get the feeling this movie will follow the same pattern as Friday. Strong opening day and weekend then fall flat that week then mediocre sales.
EDIT: Bloody Disgusting has two reviewers on it now. One gave it 4 out of 10 stars. The other gave it 1/5 out of 5 stars.
