Kei-Lin is my long-time roleplaying character from another site. The Predator weapons specialist. He's also a technical advisor to one of the Elders. Here's a picture of him:

That's so cool! Is that where your avatar comes from?
Mine's not nearly as exciting. I came across it in a series of books I was reading quite a few years ago now. The books centered around 4 clans of warrior cats. A prophecy was made to one of the clan leaders that only fire would save her clan. On the outskirts of the clans territory lived a young orange housecat which they called a kittypet, named Rusty. He was always looking to the forest behind his home with a desire to enter it and one day he did. However at the same time one of the apprentice warrior cats was training in the same area and attacked and pinned down Rusty. Drawn to the fight between the two young cats the apprentice's master along with the leader of the clan, named Bluestar came and broke it up. As Rusty stood up the light throught the trees caught him and his pelt 'glowed like fire'.
Believing that this young cat was the fullfillment of the prophecy she had recieved Bluestar invited Rusty into her clan, something that had never been done before. Rusty joined her clan but from the beginning was always an outcast and distrusted because of his 'kitty pet roots'. Which the other cats felt would keep him from understanding their warrior ways. Time went by and when Rusty turned six months old he began his warrior training and was given his apprentice name of Firepaw. But things did not go smoothly there were incidents where his loyalty was proven and questioned and another cat's thirst for power almost destroyed the clan from within. When his mentor deemed his training was complete he underwent a pilgrimage of sorts and was given his warrior name of Fireheart. Fire for his color and heart for the courage and loyalty he had shown not only his new clan but all cats.
This first series was 6 books long and for the first 5 he remained a loyal warrior for his clan. Facing many challenges and obstacles that often forced him to bend the clan's ancient rules in order to do what his heart told him was right. It was not until a betrayl by their own clan's deputy and second in command, Tigerclaw that Fireheart's true destiny came to light. Driven to unspeakable acts by a lust for power Tigerclaw sets in motion a battle that would ultimately cost Thunderclan's leader, Bluestar her final life. As she lay dying with Fireheart at her side she proclaims him the new leader of Thundrclan and divulges the prophecy made about him long ago. After the battle and another pilgrimage Fireheart recieves the blessing of their ancestors know as Starclan and recieves the nine lives of a clan leader and his name Firestar.
During the final book Firestar proves his destiny by destroying not only Tigerclaw, who had become leader of Shadowclan by killing its leader. But also destroying a rogue group of clats recruited from another territory by Tigerstar during his exile. In the end Firestar brings peace not only to his clan but all the clans of the forest.
Two more 6 book series were written with him as a leader but not main character if you will, they centered around his children and grandchildren, with him now the wise leader.
So that's why I choose the name Firestar. An outcast who found where he truly belonged through friendship, loyalty, and courage.

Wow that a great story, when were these books written? Yeah that is one of the stones, its probably the best example of an Abraxas stone that has ever been discovered, its not exactly priceless, but it is worth a lot of money. Its covered with magical symbols and words. iiieeeeoooooouuuuuuiiiiioooo .............etc Cool I always figured that it had something to do with your name. As for the books they're relatively recent. The series is called Warriors and its by Erin Hunter. Her writing is classified as young adult or teen fiction, I'm not sure how you feel about reading that type of stuff although it doesn't really feel like it. I think you'd really enjoy the series it has alot of astrology and mystical themes to it. The cats live in an ancient society watched over and governed by their ancestors Starclan. There is a reason and a ritual behind everything they do. Most cats are warriors but some are mecidine cats who heal the injured and speak with Starclan through the use of a moonstone. The first book in the series is called Into The Wild, its pretty much available in any bookstore. Feel free to pm me if you want more info on the series.

I remember this topic, but I can't believe how long ago it was. Since we've had some name changes and a few surges, I figured I'd bring this back.
My username is still the same as it was on day one. Same color as well, when Demon implemented that addition.
