Before there was Amityville, there was this! Starring Bette Davis, Karen Black, Oliver Reed, Burgess Merideth. The story is simple: a family movies to a large house in the middle of nowhere to basically take care of it over the summer from the Alardyce siblings. Stipulation? Take care of their mother in upstairs but just leave her alone. Movie has many creepy moments and I rather enjoyed it. The hardest to watch was the pool scene >_> And the ending has a wow factor to it. Check it out! It has a 6.0 on IMDB. Suspense, atmosphere, limited gore and great acting. I made a review for it for Morehorror.com Review

I really like this one. I have seen it a few times over the years and every time it delivers on the spooky creepy factor. Not to mention that it has some pretty great actors in it I mean Bette Davis alone makes it a worth while watch.

Great movie, I highly recommend it. I'll be honest, it scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.

I like Burnt Offerings a lot. It has a really creepy and spooky vibe to it and there's something about the film that just looks great to me. Karen Black really gives a great degenerating, out there performance. I was pretty impressed when I saw this for the first time a few years back, because it doesn't seem to get a lot of talk.
Edit: I like your review, Rebel. I like the Chauffeur/Tall Man comparison and just reading what you typed about the ending was enough for me to get the chills remembering it. I have to put this in again some time soon.
