Like the title says, what does everyone think about this movie? I liked it, very interesting-looking monster in the Gillman.

I think it's (with the Mummy) the least watched one by me. I only saw it in completion one time. I did however get the Legacy DVD Collection and watch the sequals. Yet for some reason I just can't remember anything about them I wonder why... I will make a point of watching them this week so I can better serve this topic. He does look great though

Definately, and for what they had in terms of make-up and special effects back then, it is godly.

It's been awhile since I've seen them. But isn't the last one about them operating on him and making him a land breather? Then at the end of the movie he escapes jumps back in the ocean and drowns? I remember liking these movies and feeling bad for him when they tried to change him.

No Wolfspirit they set him on fire and burn all his scales off. Then they have to do surgery to keep him alive and that's how he becomes more human. Check out this picture!
I can't believe you guys feel sorry for him! I WISH I could get chicks that hot!

I just watched the Original straight through for the very first time and it was baddass! Gillman rocks! I felt sad at the end of the movie! i felt sorry for poor Gilly For the vintage age of this movie he looked amazing and in some ways a lot better than some of the monsters we see today! One thing i noticed in this move was when the expediton return to the camp site and find the guy who got killed by Gilly, Rigamortosis has set in and hes froze in his death position with his arms showing with his fingers all bent and stiff! I thought this was a great touch to a dead body in a movie.. In a lot of movies bodies found after a while look like theres no forms of rigormortis setting in or has set. The old school filmmakers made it clear to show how he was scared to death and was set in a rigormortis death freeze! Awesome Film and some cool film angles! The Underwater scenes were wicked!

One of my favorite Universal movies. I love the Gillmeister. The cinematography in the movie was so incredible. The suit was ahead of it's time. In fact I've seen monster suits in recent movies that weren't as good. It's really funny how far off they were on the wildlife of the Amazon. I mean come on they don't have anteaters the size of cows etc. LOL One thing I kept thinking while watching it was how much Anaconda stole from it. Just watch the 2 movies and tell me there aren't a lot of similarities.
