So, how do you watch your Horror Classics? Me, personally, I prefer to do so on DVD for the sake of bonus features. But to truly experience nostalgia, it must be done with VHS.
I have been recently replacing my VHS collections with DVDs, saving only a small handful of VHS just because of the feeling I get when popping it in the VCR (I have a VCR-DVD double player). This includes such films as Vincent Price's Last Man on Earth, and others.

I bought every Abbott and Costello and ALMOST every Universal Classic Monster movie on VHS back in 1994 till DVD's came out...
I have since replaced every single one of them with DVD. My first watch with Dracula on DVD I felt the VHS looked better and sounded better. But I must have been way over anylising it because I watched Dracula two nights ago and it was just fine on DVD.
So unless I'm really desparate everything I watch is DVD.

Any way I can get them. I love VHS but DVD's are cool for the special features and cause they take up less space.

I am a DVD junkie.
I just keep on buying and buying them.
The only time I get VHS is if I am at a Thrift Store.

I had to vote for DVD. I'm a bit of a holdout in that my player plays both - VHS and DVD. (I have TNBC on VHS too, WolfSpirit!) But I do prefer DVD - better quality overall, special features and they don't wear out. I've slowly replaced most of my VHS favorites with DVDs and I only buy movies on DVD now. But I've just got too damn many old movies on VHS to give them up entirely. I'll be like that those people who were still listening to their 8-tracks in the mid-80s!

My overall movie collection is mostly dvds, but I was younger when I collected most of my horror movies, so unfortunately my copies of the Wolfman, and Dracula are on VHS. I'd prefer dvd, and I'll replace them eventually, but for now I'm stuck with VHS when it comes to the classics.

I have most of mine on DVD now but I have a few original faves on VHS (mainly so I have the cover art!) I have Friday the 13th Part 1-9 on video, I rarely use them as I like to keep them in prime condition so there are on the horror video unit. Along with some other older titles such as The Fog again keeping for the cover art work. I mean if there is a film I wanna see thats old and I dont know if I will like it, the DVD can be quite a lot so I usually get it for 99p of Ebay on VHS first to test it. Also I have taped about 200 horror films from the TV aswell as various TV horror shows (The Chroncile and Vampire High) to name a few. I love the quality of DVD though so many of my films I now have on DVD and boxset, (Friday boxset, Halloween boxset, Urban Legends and Scream boxset.) or TV show horror boxset (Buffy, Angel and Poltergesit the Legacy!)
Is that enough tripe for me to talk about lol?

I prefer DVD's. The extra's are great and they don't wear out over time like VHS tapes do.

Some movies (Phantasm 2 for example) are not on DVD yet, so VHS is the only option.

Oh I agree if the only way to get it is on VHS then go ahead and get it. Not only that but you can copy them to DVD so you don't have to worry about them wearing out.
