He made God awful gutter trash low budget horror movies with actors who were Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past there prime... They have become cult classics eventually just because of who he got to be in them. The legendary Bela Lugosi Dracula 1931 was in his movies in the late 50's. I believe Lon Chaney Jr. was also in them (The Wolfman). Those guys did his movies for a quick buck...

Since those assholes at Ball... I mean... Blockbuster are typically not carrying the actual Johnny Depp movie Ed Wood I am buying it from Deep DVD Discount instead. I will have it soon I hope.

I finally saw Ed Wood, I have to say it was excellent! I did think it was too short and I wish they took it past plan 9 from outer space but they didn't... I wanted to see how he died and everything else... I wanted to see how he was broke before he died. The movie makes me want to go get the movie "Bride of the Monster" it was really bad they say... He did everything in one take... I'm sure he got that from Lugosi because Lugosi always did everything in one take (at least that's what he preferred) I recommend this to everyone!

What did you think of Landau's performance as Lugosi? Do you think it was worth the Oscar he received? I do. I think he captured Bela wonderfully.

I thought there was one one line where the acting was bad but other then that it was perfect acting as Lugosi.
I want to thank KK for really exposing me to Ed Wood, I am somehow engulfed in him now. All I want to do is see all of his masterpieces.
I just orderd The Ed Wood Collection which contains all of his major movies for only $26! It's $35-39 everwhere else... I would reccomend people do that because it's important to understand people who werent understood in there time.
Ed also exposed me to Vampira who I now love, she is amaming to me and so interesting. I believe this is the closest thing to her official website Vampiras Attic I hope to do a small interview with her... but she is so old now that she may not be able to do it... we'll have to see.
So thanks again KK you changed the direction of my life in the world of Sci-Fi/Horror and I really needed a change.

You're welcome, but I'm somewhat shocked you actually liked it, and not for its campy feel, but actually in an authentic sort of way.
By the way, Vampira used to appear on Pepsi boxes and cans during the Halloween season a few years ago, when Pepsi would put Halloween-like characters on them. I'm not sure if you knew that, but perhaps if you like her so much you can collect one with her on it.

By the way, you wanted to know how Ed Wood died. He died broke, from what I remember, the exact details escape me but he never did make much money.
