No, but I do have this movie on a 50 movie collection, I think I'll have to get around to it sometime...

I know this is an ancient thread.... but I love this movie. It scared the bejabbers out of me when I was a kid. I have 2 different versions on dvd. It is still cool after all these years.

Excellent movie. It is a lot closer to the book. I believe it is the first movie version of I Am Legend.

It was the first film version of the book. And though the production quality was low, it lends an eerie quality to the experience. The worst part is.... it is nearly believable. Much more plausible than the current one.

Oh, man! I LOVE this movie, but then again... I love all of Vincent Price's stuff, whether it be a voice role or acting role.
This movie is great, and doesn't rely on too much fancy gimmicks to come off as entertaining. I see this on AMC a lot, usually during the 2 AM to 4 AM time slots.

Love it, definitely one of my favorites. Vincent Price is always the man. Wasn't Romero influenced a bit by this with Night of the Living Dead? At the very least, they have very similar feels to them.

I've never heard that, but I can definitely see where that may be.

I've heard many people call this the first zombie movie, but they are wrong of course. There were zombies in the 1930's or 40's but this was still a big influence on the genre.
Had the biggest influence on I am Legend actually.

Hell, I've heard the phrase first vampire movie tossed around once or twice.
I'm trying to remember when I heard the Romero tie in with this film. It might have been during the commentary on the latest release but I'm not sure at all.
Price is G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all-time)...can't stress that enough. The love he had for the genre makes him one of the greatest people period. Most couldn't wait to get out of making horror, this guy proudly championed it.

Y'now, I've also heard people say that about vampires by some.
That is something great you mentioned about Price. He definately gets respect in the genre community for good reasons.
