Several travellers happen upon an old mansion inhabited by the eccentric Horace and Rebecca Femm while seeking shelter from a blinding rainstorm. The guests soon realize just what a mistake they've made as they see how mad and depraved this family truly is.
James Whale and Boris Karloff team up once again for what is one of the first haunted house movies ever made. Very atmospheric with black humor throughout, it's a shame this movie doesn't get more recognition.

They used to play this fairly regularly on AMC but I haven't seen it on there in years.

Seems to be OOP now. I hope Universal can re-release it in the near future.
