I was just watching my favorite video ever made on YouTube
and it really hit me... They are all dead...
How sad that Lon, Claude, Boris, Bela, Bud and Lou are dead....
They are gone forever.
How sad...

I know how you feel D.
Yes it is very sad that all the great talents of the pass are no longer here. Its even sadder that their Talents have not been replaced with our new generation.

It all went to hell after those guys.

I don't know if it was right after them. But I can say for sure it went to hell no later than the mid 80's.

I think it did go to hell after them. But then it got ok again in the last 70's... Then like Kyle said, it went back to hell in the mid 80's...
We get some good every once in a while now. But nothing on the regular...

Oh definitely. There was a stretch of probably 20 years when you couldn't see a good horror movie if you begged for it. I'd say from the late 50's to the middle to late 70's. Then there was a glut of incredible Horror. I'd say we are definitely in a downward time. Hopefully it doesn't last much longer. But as long as they just do remakes I think we'll be stuck in crap for quite awhile.

I agree with you there Kyle. We had the great horror films in the early years of Hollywood, then the crap, then the great years of the late 1970's and 1980's and now it is just garbage. Give me a great horror film from those eras any day!

It really is a shame that no one cares enough to come up with an original idea anymore. That's been lost. I read the other day that there's going to be a remake to Child's Play and The Exorcist. What's the point? It's been done before...why go back?

Wow man its WAY too soon to be remaking those movies! Why not just make a sequal? How much will CGI really improve that Chucky movie?
And what was wrong with Exorcist? Now theyre getting stupid...
How come many regular movies arent remade... only horror... maybe some super hero ones too...

That Exorcist 'prequel' was practicaly a remake anyway. During the final scenes of the possession, everyone in my theatre was laughing at it. What was scary/shocking in the 70's aint doing much for todays audiences.

I miss the 80's so much. Even the crappy B movie slashers (Evil Laugh, Rush Week) that came out back then are better than most of the trash they're putting out these days.

I really don't mind them doing the Child's Play remake. I don't really like those movies anyway. But redoing the Exorcist is simply retarded.

One of the few things we don't agree on Kyle. I'm not going to try to say the Child's Play movies are masterpieces, but I find them all to be entertaining. Not my favorite franchise, but I still enjoy them quite a bit. I agree 100% with you on The Exorcist, I really hope they don't remake it.

I like Chucky. Hes a cool little guy. Still wish i owned a goodguy doll that looked exactly like the one they used in the movies.. I know one exists but the price isn't right..3 grand for a doll, they can keep it.
