Hello, and welcome to my third review here at CLAD. As you all know, I've reccently been getting classic horror film, and now im obsessed with them (AND ITS YOUR FAULT KYLE AND DEMON! lol j/k ) Anyways, I decided to write a review about one of my favorite Universal Horror films - Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman!THE POSITIVESActing: Lon Chaney, Jr., the most skilled actor of classic horror besides Boris Karloff, was amazing as the Wolf Man. If anyone else played Wolfy, I'd die. Also, the man who played Dr. Mannering to be pretty skilled at acting as well.
Plot: The plot was wonderful. The way Frank and Wolfy met, it was just a wonderful storyline. The way they....oops, dont wanna give away the ending
Ending: I'm not telling you the ending. I'm just saying.....its a good ending!THE NEGATIVESActing: The reason I put acting again is because I did not like Bela Lugosi as Frankenstein's Monster. It was laughable. He lookd like he was giggling all the time, and it was just....not right. I think even Glenn Strange did better than him (from the House of movies)RECAPGore Meter - 0/10 (its classic horror, what do ye expect?)
Stars - 4 out of 5I recommend this film strongly, even if you havent seen classic horror (this was only the second classic horror film i saw) and I tell you right now you wont regret it ~The Darkness

Great review! I can explain why Lugosi always seemed to be smiling though. Because they filmed a lot of his scenes with him talking to continue the storyline from Ghost of Frankenstein where Ygor's brain is in the monsters body. When they decided to drop that aspect of the story they edited the footage and you end up seeing the smile because it was supposed to be Ygor. I think if they'd planned on dropping that story aspect they should have re-shot those scenes. If they had Lugosi wouldn't end up coming across so weird. BTW I'm glad I was some small part in getting you into Classic Horror. It makes me very happy when someone discovers how great they are.

I liked the story, but Bela's version of Frank really destroyed the movie for me. The first half of the movie is the superior half to me.

I am glad the monster did not talk, but knowing what happened at the and of Ghost of Frankenstein, it would have made sense within continuity. Bela Lugosi was just not the right guy to play the Frankenstein monster though. They should have gotten Glen Strange to do it. He was the one who played the character in Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein (as well as House of Frank and Drac).
Lugosi was a great actor and an awesome horror icon...but he just was not the Frank monster.
