Well, it appears as if this direct to DVD movie is being pushed back once again to a May 12 release. I am a huge fan of the original Ju-On series and The American Grudge was very good but I wasn't really into The Grudge 2 but I only saw it one time . I'm surprised this is direct to DVD, but it is an American director, and Takashi Shimizu , who directed all 4 Japanese movies and the American remakes is not involved whatsoever. It starts Shawnee Smith of Saw fame and the plot revolves around a young Japanese woman who holds the secret to ending the Grudge curse, where she travels to a haunted Chicago apartment building and encounters a family battling to survive the ghosts. Together they confront the ghost of Kayako to save their souls from their impending tragic fate.
I hope that it's decent but without Shimizu and it being direct to DVD I dunno.

The first Grudge I was a big fan of. A really sweet psychological thriller. The Grudge 2, not so much. I expected a Grudge 3, but I doubt it'll be any good. Especially without the original director.

I thought the original Grudge was okay, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me and I've yet to see the second but I'm surprised this isn't getting a theatrical release since the first two were popular in the theatre.
