It's of course speaking in pre-tense because you haven't died if someone can still speak to you. So it is meant to make you instantly see your empty future that you made for yourself because you never took the initiative to go and do what you thought you'd fail at.
You never lived a life where you get to do what you want in life and do it as a living (for example). Because it would take more time and effort to get that ball rolling then it would to drop a resume off somewhere.
So the way your life is going and by the way you live each day (to this point) would you say this is your fate? Yes or no, and why?

No. I am in the middle of getting ready to apply for another job. I am also working on my master's degree. I never thought I would ever join a forum like this. But I did. I decided to take life by the horns before I hit 30. I am also going to go to a convention by myself next year. To add to this a famous movie quote, "What's the point of living if you can't feel alive?" I feel alive now!

As long as I am a good husband and father, I am not a failure.
Jobs may come and go, but family is forever.

Well rememeber the job thing was an example. You can also fail at being a parent, because you didn't try or bother to be a great dad. And I know you'll never do that

I try my best at most things I do.
Sometimes I set myself up for failure though.

I don't believe in failure., only temporary setbacks. I'm pretty driven and end up doing exactly what I put my mind to. Sometimes it takes a little longer than expected but it always works out in the end.

well i dont have much but what i have im grateful to god for his mercy on me and my family. people are failures because they choose to be in that position. they dont try hard enough or they just dont care. or they dont have the money or the drive to even do something about it. if you have good friends and family and they love you they will support your decision and help you do what you need to do to be successful. but if you dont reach the goal you want them work with what you have and make it better or live happy. im alive and i might be struggling at times but im happy i have a home. not somewere in the street on drugs and on welfare struggling for food.

I don't believe I'm destined for that kind of fate. I work hard to accomplish my goals, even if I don't quite make it, or it takes longer than expected.

When I think of stuff like this I have a set standard for what I feel are the three main areas I want to succeed at. To me, they're all that matters.
1) Family - Being a good father, son and grandson. I've yet to become a father but I know my parents and grand parents are proud of me. I've always tried to honor them and make them proud that I'm their son and grandson. That's about all I can do.
2) Person - Being a good person. I live by the golden rule and I try to treat everyone fairly and with respect. Some people make that hard to do but I just try to kill them with kindness. I do a lot for charity and my community as well. I try to do everything I can to be an all-around good person. That's about all I can do.
3) Business - I believe the third component to a happy and successful life is your business prowess. Everyone feels better about themselves and their life if they can earn a living and not only that, earn a living doing what they want to do and something that makes a difference. I went into business for myself about a year after I graduated from college and haven't looked back. I love my job, I love being my own boss and above all it makes me feel good to be so independent. I don't have to walk on egg shells or worry about not having a job tomorrow. That's about all I can ask for and do.
