Which is better? I love Family Matters more. What do you think is about the shows?

I like both. Family Matters isn't as good as it was when I was younger, but I can watch Fresh Prince over and over. It's simply funnier.

Family Matters. Will Smith's character and the dad on that show were douchebags. Yes I know he was the voice of Shredder on the TMNT cartoon.

I have to go with Family Matters. Its been years since I've seen either of these but I remember watching it on TGIF and Urkel was aways hilarious.

Fresh Prince easily. here's something inteesting. When they were in syndication and I was younger I loved The Cosby Show and never got into Fresh Prince. Now that they are re-runs I love the Fresh Prince and am soooo bored by Cosby. Strange huh? I really have developed a fondness for will smith as a comedian. Too bad he doesn't do as much comedy anymore.

Yeah, he has a real effortless quality about him when he does comedic roles. I think the last one he did was Hitch.

At the moment I like "Family Matters"! Fresh Prince is really boring to me, I seen all the episodes and it seems to me like that every time it's on, it's always a clip show episodes!

Ignoring the fact Nick at Nite plays the HELL out of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I do believe it was the better show. However, since Nick at Nite shows the same DAMN 10 episodes over and over and over and over, and back to back to back to back, it has totally made me hate the show.
Family Matters, while good, also got a little ridiculous with the whole Stefan angle. Some of the story lines were wacky, so they were hard to get into. Of course it does have it's shining moments, like when Urkel would stand up for Laura, those scenes usually always touched me, and by themselves trump anything the Fresh Prince ever did.
In the end, they're both remnants of the 90s, a decade in which I think was incredibly awesome. I was born in 1986, so I got to live in and through the 90s. Any show from that era either ties or far exceeds anything from today, no question.

Interesting comparison. I gotta go with Family Matters. Fresh Prince never actually appealed to me

Fresh Prince by far. Their humor always appealed to me. Steve eurkel was just plain annoying and frankly was not funny. Will Smith was a complete knockouy in Fresh Prince, and I watch it every chance I get. and Kwik, they show Fresh Prince on another channel as well, from like 9pm to 5am, but I cannot believe I forgot the name of the channel.

Really it was super-popular in the early and mid 90s. At least in my area.

Fresh Prince definately. Can't bring myself to sit down and watch Family Matters anymore, it's really quite boring.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air plays on a lot of channels: - Nick at Nite - ABC Family - BET - And one of Nickelodeon's extra channels And they're the same 10 episodes, it kills me. It's one thing to see an episode repeat, but over and over as many times as they do, it just makes me want to gag myself. At least with Family Matters they show an episode a night, and while they do repeat, it's less often. I don't hate reruns, but I do hate them when the same episode is showing within 48 hours of its last airing.

Neither. I hate both these shows w/ a passion.
Sitcoms like these will rot your brain!
I really feel like they "dumb down" the national viewing audience.

If we're going to discuss sitcoms, then All in the Family trumps about everything.

Camper killed for that Kwik. I absolutely loved All in the Family.
Between Fresh Prince and Family Matters, I'll go with Family Matters. I just never got into Fresh Prince and I'm not a big Will Smith fan.

I agree that All in the Family is great. I have the first 3 seasons on DVD. Sanford and Son is classic also.
I still say that Seinfeld is the best sitcom ever though. I don't watch many sitcoms but the few that I do watch I really love.
