Looks good. Not too sure about the rating though, most pg-13s aren't good horror. But maybe it'll be an exception.

Nice description, hopefully it'll come close to the greatness of Evil Dead.

I watched it recently. I think this is a solid movie. Very original. Since Sam Raimi directs, you can tell the things he just couldn't resist sticking in this movie like the comedic aspects. I don't think it over done the comedy too much because then that would suck royally then. Watch! It's pretty darn good. He should go back to his roots and do an Evil Dead 4. I am sure that would make fans have a field day to hear that since he is off the Spiderman project.

Pretty good. I don't know if I'd compare it to Evil Dead though.

I dug this movie.
Raimi got away with a lot more than I expected in a pg13, and there so many great gross out scenes spread throughout. You had good performances all around, and even the cgi and special effects worked. The comedy was funny, and the horror entertaining. Can't ask for more. Evil dead? No. Good? Yes.
4/5

Thought it was very overrated in the horror community actually. It wasn't bad just nothing special to me and had way too much comedy. I just wish Raimi would have kept it like the original Evil Dead, which is his best movie by far.
I did like the end a lot though and the plot was good, kinda reminiscent of an 80's movie.

Maybe a second viewing will improve it for me. I know that I rented this and Trick R Treat the same night in October and there was just no comparison for me.

Eh, Drag Me to Hell is more in line with the SECOND movie Evil Dead 2 over Evil Dead 1. Evil Dead is just pure horror. I did not laugh not once in that one. The second one I did.
I did love this movie though, it's very re-watchable and very original which is always ace to me with remake mania going around.

I just watched DMtH again last night. It gets better with each viewing. I really don't see any real similarities to Evil Dead other than both were made by Raimi so there's a similar filming/directing style. Slapstick horror with gross humor. The stories don't really have any similarity to me. I guess the whole witch thing could be seen as similar. But one was a demon possessed person and the other was a gypsy with the ability to curse people. Great movie. Especially considering it was PG 13. You don't see very many good PG 13 horror films. I wonder if there will be a sequel. The ending definitely left an opening for one.

Gotta say, Drag Me To Hell shocked me with how good it is. I watched it for the first time sometime around this past Thanksgiving and I just watched it for the fifth time the other night. That alone has to make me seriously consider it my favorite horror film of the 2000's. I don't think I've watched any of my other favorites on the list more than 2-3 times and I've seen this freaking flick 5 times in less than 2 months! It's just plain fun, don't know how to describe it other than that. And damn, the music is PHENOMENAL all around. Alisan Lohman is just a very likable lead heroine. I love the cemetery scene more than anything...it's just so 80's. "Are you gonna take this thing? ARE YOU GONNA TAKE THIS THING??" "CHOKE ON IT BITCH!!!!" Lol, it's cheesy, but at the same time, it gives me chills.
I wish I caught this in theaters, but I guess making out with my girlfriend for the first time in the woods was a worthy alternative, haha.

Haha, I'd piss myself if that place was real. I haven't delved too far into my big Lovecraft book, but fuck that noise.
