Paramount and Dreamworks recently went on the HD side, so that is a major blow to the Blu-Ray people.
Which will become the dominant High Definition format?

HD-DVD. It and the players for it are cheaper on average.

The story I read said that the some HD players will be priced at $299, several hundred less then some Blu-Ray players.

Yep. I think it will go just like the battle between VHS and Beta. Beta was better quality but way more expensive. So VHS won.
