What do you think was the greatest era of Hulk Hogan's career. Although he completely changed the business and took it to new heights in the 80's I really love the WCW nWo era. I guess I just dislike people (general public) so much that I like when they hate what I like. So when he was nWo I felt like it was a secret society.

And boy was he hated. I can still remember when people would pelt the ring with garbage or jump the guardrail to try and get at him. I loved the original Red and Yellow but I have to go with WCW NWO as well for how he reinvented himself. No one has been as successful at going from a face to a heel and back like Hogan.

Here's some info people may not know about the Mr. America gimmick they did in WWF.
The Mr. America gimmick came under fire briefly from Marvel Comics, who anointed it a rip-off of Captain America, citing costume similarity; the single star on the mask was also a trademark on Captain America's chest piece. This was also adding fuel to the fire over the rights to use the Hulk Hogan name because of Marvel's ownership of the Incredible Hulk character. Because of these problems, WWE was forced to edit out all references to the "Hulk Hogan" name, including pictures which featured Hogan wearing memorabilia that said "Hulk" (a majority of them) and started to refer to Hogan under the "Hollywood Hogan" name he used in WCW.
It was later revealed that Hogan was unhappy with the payoffs for his matches after his comeback under the Mr. America gimmick.[29] Vince decided to terminate Hogan's contract, and Hogan left WWE in 2003.

Funny thing is Hogan now owns the rights to Hulk Hogan and all the names associated like Hulkster etc. The WWE has to pay him extra if they want to sell merchandise. Damn smart business man.

What about this part?

That was then. After Hogan left the WWE that time he ended up winning the rights from Marvel comics. So now he owns them. The last 3 or so times he's shown up in the WWE he was the owner of the copyrights. Speaking of those copyrights Hogan recently filed them under a separate business run by Eric Bischoff so his wife couldn't try and get them during his divorce.

He had to get a court to agree that Marvel claiming he was infringing on their Hulk copyright was ridiculous. They finally did about 4 years ago. As soon as they did he grabbed the copyrights before anyone else could.

That is a surprise Greg. I mean i know how much you love all the modern things and despise the 80's. If I have to read another message where you talk about how great CGI is I'll shoot myself. ;D Seriously though I had a feeling you'd pick that era. Brother!

It's a very tough chice for me. He was great both ways. He prolly is the best ever at being a face and a heel. I don't think anyone else pulled both off so well.
I guess I'll go with NWO Hogan though, he was cracking me up every week.
Although I still says 80's peak era of wrestling was better than the 90's peak even though they were both great I just like watching the 80's stuff better. Seemed like more of a sport during the matches and they way they called them.
Just like fridayfan I'm ususlly 80's also but I actually kinda got tired of Hogan in the 80's and never did when he was NWO.

I liked it all, except when he came back in the early 2000's. I think he was given weak story lines, and it really repressed his potential.
nWo was brilliant, but WCW kept it going on too long. I think at one time we had 50 nWo knockoffs! But overall, Hogan was good in everything he did.
Now if this was a poll for when he looked cooler, I would have voted for nWo Hogan.
