Crappy R-rated version pictured below
This American film deals with the activities of a wealthy immigrant serial killer; a German photographer, who leads a double life: by day he shoots erotic photos. By night he rapes, tortures and murders prostitutes
The film was submitted for release in the United Kingdom to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) who refused to give the film an '18' certificate, therefore making the film illegal to supply within the UK. The BBFC stated they rejected the film because of sexual violence, and the film was potentially breaking UK obscenity laws
Murder set pieces is extremely gory and extremely brutal.Theres no plot to this film at all, just blood, rape and flesh ripping and a kick ass soundtrack.I never saw the regular R -rated version but i heard some folks say that it sucked because Lionsgate cut out all the good scenes, for example- The killer grabs a woman, pushes her down, pulls out his straight-razor, and... next scene. He ties a woman to a chair, revs up the chainsaw, and... next scene. Every last kill follows that formula, and considering that the violence is truly the only reason to watch the film, it goes without saying that the R-rated version is far from a recommendation. The version i have(The directors cut version) is where the meats at.We see chainsaws to the head and all sorts of violent gory scenes. The only drawback is that the directors cut is extremely hard to come by these days.Amazon has it going for 120 bucks (Fuck that). So unfortunately some folks are stuck with the crappy R-rated version if they are interested in seeing this shit(Unless you know somebody with a dvd burner). This film is not for everyone, but i loved it though.
