I don't think so. the mayans first off would have human sacrifices every morning becuase they thought that's what made the sun come up they also had no actual form of communcation and their calendar isn't 100% accurate if it was every calendar in every culture or religion would be the same. There are 100s of calendars that all end on different dates. Don't worry about stuff like this Brew. Every friggin generation there's a supposed end of the world prophecy and it never happens. Science says we have about 4 million years left til the sun goes supernova and destroys our solar system. But by then you and I will be long dead anyway.

Nobody is in trouble Brew. These things are blown out of proportion by people who are paranoid and scientists who like to play god and exaggerate or even make up facts.

I don't think the world will end, but there will be an alignment of 4 planets. There will also be a change in the magnetic poles of the Earth. There is one thing I am worried about and that is the eruption of the mega-volcano under Yellowstone. If that erupts, everyone in the U.S. will most likely die. The volcanic ash went up to Mexico last time it went off. If you inhale the ash, it will be like cement and preserve you. I don't think this will happen soon (Like 2012), but it will happen.
2012 is like a new Y2K, after the date ends someone will create a new doomsday date.

Wow, what a postive outlook. Not to be rude.

It is true, sadly but I don't think it will happen in our lifetime let alone 2012. There are many ways we could die instantly, and I was just telling the worst possible way IMO.

Well hopefully it won't happen for several years after we are dead. Also wouldn't we kinda know by now for ceratin if it was gonna happen or if it is even gonna happen. What many people forget is that the media exaggerates everything ( Nostradamus DID NOT PREDICT 9/11!) I'm supposed to believe that the Mayans who thought that the Spanish conquistadors ( who wiped them out with sheer ease) were gods and that cutting out their hearts and human sacrifices brought the sun up. Sure they were astronomers but so was Da Vinci and many other intelligent people and yet they do not predict the same thing. The media exagerrate sthe hell outta everything to make money. Greatest marketing scheme in the world.

The systemic activities have rose but other than that there will be no warning. You are right that Nostradamus did not predict ANYTHING. He used very lose words so that you can interpret it to be anything you want. He was a scam artist of the past.
I still think that the only thing that will happen in 2010 is that the planets will align and the magnetism pole will reverse. Shouldn't be anything different that it is everyday. I wonder what the next "Doomsday" date is. Hmm...

Accodring to REAL astronomers the actual doomsday date is millions of years from now when the sun dies. And I do not see why the poles shifting would hurt us. Woudln't it just rise the sea level a bit?

Probably, there is other conclusions but that is the most likely event. I think the Myans though of the astronomic events that happen every hundred of thousand of years to be a event that will reset the calender. They were huge in astrology.

So basically youre saying that they thought it would just reset the calendar and not actually be the "apocalypse"?
