After 20 years on the air Law and Order is getting cancelled. Ratings have declined in recet years after Jerry Orbach ( Who played detective Lennie Briscoe) passed away a few years back and it's never recovered. Personally this is fine with me. Law and Order has had so many different detetcives after jerry died that I just felt confused and mainly turned off from it. Also it's just lost it's charm. Your thoughts?

I've never watched a full episode. I've only seen bits and pieces of maybe 5 episodes. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

Law & Order is one of those shows I never could get into. Same with others mentioned here, like 24 and Lost.
It's ironic because I'm attempting to major in Criminal Justice, yet I don't enjoy programs focused on them. Well, maybe a documentary or something, but that's it.
When I tell people this, one of two things happens. I either get the "Are you SERIOUS?" look and question, or the "Then maybe you don't enjoy this field, or thinking programs."
Honestly, as much as I want to kick myself for saying this, this show is a THOUSAND times better than some of the other garbage they push into time slots.

Kwik, if youw atch L&O in it's earlier seasons you'll get into it IMO. I always loved the earlier seasons but with the absence of popular character detective Lennie Briscoe ( Jerry Orbach ) ratings fell and fell even more with the different cast changes and more political crimes rather than street level crimes.

Yep. This is the only Law and Order getting axed. It's two spin offs being Special Victims Unit and Criminal Intent ( which airs on the USA network) will be renewed. There is a third spin off in the works taking place in Los Angeles

It had a good run and they already have another spinoff in the works, so it isn't a total loss.

I could have SWORNNNNNNN I read that Criminal Intent was going off the air in July from the USA network.
That would leave SVU and their new show LOLA (Yes I just like saying that) for NBC in the Fall.
There is a whole lot of new shows coming in the Fall. Hell the CW is making a Nikita show :S

Hmm, it was on a spoiler tv thing stream I have on facebook. I will confirm it if I get an offcial word but it doesn't do too well on USA. Pulls in like 2 million viewers and less than 1 in the18-49 demo.

True. That's why they added in Jeff Goldbloom but I always liked Psycha nd Burn Notice. But Back to the subject, In recent years there were so many different detecitives ( practically every two seasons there was a new detective) that I just turned off from it.

I can't stand Law and Order. The last good cop show to me was NYPD Blue.
