I'm looking forward to it. I hope it's better received than the 1998 movie was.

Yeah that movie was definetly overhyped with all the billboards and stuff they did before it was released.

I'll probably get Hell for this. But I really enjoyed the 1998 movie. I thought the design of that Godzilla was pretty cool. I guess I can understand why some Godzilla fans wouldn't like it since the creature didn't look much like the Toho version. But it didn't bother me he looked so different. He was still a giant dinosaur like creature with large dorsal plates and his roar was pretty much intact. I enjoyed it a lot the first time I saw it. I even enjoyed the cartoon that ran for a while after it came out. The G fans who called him GINO just didn't make sense to me. I think they were taking things a little too seriously and were close minded to anything different.

Personally I liked the look of Godzilla in the 1998 version too since he looked more like a real dinosaur, the only complaint I really have about it was the whole Madison Square garden full of little babyzillas. That just seems a little too much for me. I think the problem they ran into was that the promotion was so strong that it just got everybody's hopes up way too high and then when it didn't meet them it was judged even more harshly than it would normally have been.
