Definitely a vast improvement over several of the previous ones. If they'd been able to continue at that time making films this good or better Godzilla films of that era might be a little more respected. Thankfully the hiatus they were forced into reinvigorated the franchise considerably. It's kind of sad that Daikaiju films had to take a hiatus during this time. Not only did Godzilla have to go away for a time. Gamera did too. But I guess in both cases it was for the best. Because when they were able to come back both kaiju and their films were vastly improved. The Heisei era for Godzilla and Gamera is easily some of the best films for both. Now you are going to be getting into reviews of some great G films. Don't get me wrong I love the Showa era. But percentage wise IMO there were more quality films during the Heisei era so reading your reviews of those films will be fun.
