Really is. I was expecting to be blown away when I found it in a thrift store but oh hell no I wasn't! No action until the last 30 minutes. The gore is pretty good (on my unrated) but it doesn't make up for how mediocre and overrated it is. I can say that pretty proudly. Will check this remake out soon.

The original isn't an all time classic like Halloween, so I don't mind that it was remade.
It is just a cheesy fun horror movie.

Sooooooooo I watched this online just now. Go on record. Better than the original. Doesn't happen often. Mark it down It's very generation centered just like the original was. Original being very 80s well this is very 00. It also has that rockish and amusing factor going on. Things the remake did better. 1) Got to the FREAKING POINT. The original takes over one hour to do anything and I was highly annoyed. This one gets to the point a bit faster to see what the hell is going on! 2) Actual scary demons. The original had cheesy demons that I do remember that talked if I remember correctly. This one didn't. 3) I could figure out the plot! The original I wasn't that sure of the plot really. But this one hada semblance of a plot 4) Decent likable characters. Unlike the original (I didn't like any of those) 5) Ending made more sense. Seriously, what the hell was the original's ending?? So yeah. I am on the camp who thinks the original is a mediciore 80s horror movie that chose to be goofy. I'd own if I could. It was amusing. Not a masterpiece or anything. But amusing in a better way than the original. I give it 3.5/4 stars. Recommended at least for entertainment.

The women . . . mostly. The guys . . . oddly fairly average looking. I found this one more amusing than the original. Just don't look at it like its going to blow you away or you will be disappointed

Well I watched Night of the Demons 2 and 3 last night.
Confirms my suspicions that Night of the Demons 1988 is putrid overrated puss. It really is. To quote some "it's not as good as you remember it being". It honestly isn't.
The sequel Night of the Demons 2 on the other hand, is great. Better than the original. Starts off great , great gore, entertaining, fun and some scares in there as well. And the Nun was epic! Superior to the sloppy first hour of the original that was boring as hell with that nonsense ending.
Night of the Demons 3 . . .was mean spirited and the characters were not likable. Hell even the makeup is a downgrade. The movie seems tired and trying to tire outa storyline. It was just kinda blah but watchable.
Thus far I am trying to decide which is better, the remake or the NOTD sequel 2. May have to watch the remake to find out.
And it's a tie to see what is worst the first or the third. Trust me folks, watch these movies for yourselves as I was expecting the first movie to be an orgasmic experience to hear some tell it and it honest to Go wasn't and I saw the freaking uncut version for crying out out!
Remake or sequel 2, those are my high recommendations.

I met the director of Night of the Demons 2 a couple of years back.He was promoting the Brisbane premiere of the documentary Not Quite Hollywood, and if I recall right a few of his "ozploitation" classics were being shown during the festival.Anyway, he was quite taken aback when I bought up the sequel and told him how much I enjoyed it. And then I ribbed him over his contributions to the Leprechaun series, which I didn't enjoy in the slightest.
Point being is that I totally agree with Rebel, NOTD 2 is great, one of those rare instances where a DTV sequel was better than it's predecessor. And the remake for that matter, which I must say that I did enjoy,I just wish I had been drunk when watching it.

Being drunk watching the remake I did that last night and I must say it was more dandier Well I watched Night of the Demons 2 and 3 last night. Part 3 was good, especially the revolver blow job scene from Angela. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKA990ecKDM
Amelia Kinkade has sex appeal. In my opinion Amelia is angela, the same way i think Robert Englund is the only Freddy krueger. Sure other people could play the character, but there will always be only one person who is that character.
My opinion of course.

Hmm. That was probably the BEST scene of that movie. The rest? The characters were hatable and there was essentially no plot at all. i wanted to like it after how wel sequel 2 was done but dear God I can't ignore this >_> I guess really is to each his own on this. Angella she is somewhat of a Robert Englund but not so much as him. I could live without her in the remake as the Nightmare remake bothered me without him. I guess different vibes
