The killer here wasn't very subtle, was he? ;D
When this thing starts out, you're thinking, "this is going to be so bad it's going to be good" with the Halloween rip-off music and the van, the lazy writing. But, then it grows on you. I liked the basketball scene in the gym (hot!) as well as the shower scene. Also, the references to the time like the Izod shirt, the "Brooke Shields look," the Kool Aid mix, and when they are talking about the Dodger game and Ron Cey going yard. ;D I recommend this film....a short one (77 minutes long) but it does have suspense and is scary at the end. Some shocking gore there too. Though I liked this movie, I have a feeling that the other two sequels would not be that good.

I actually haven't had a chance to see this one yet. But I've heard some really good things about it.

This may come as a surprise to everyone, but this is one 80's slasher that I never got into. I watched it as a teen, bought the DVD a few years ago and watched it again, but it's just forgettable to me.
I remember that the killer decides to fall asleep in the house where he's killing people and I just didn't understand that. Maybe I will watch it once more this week in the portable DVD player undisturbed and my opinion will change. I hope it does.

Slumber Party Massacre is a pretty fun movie. Not one of my favorite films, but not a bad way to spend a Saturday night either.

I like this movie! The sequels are not as good, though, as they are more horror-comedy. Part II is even a musical...well a guy playing a guitar keeps showing up. It was just weird. An actress from FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD is in that one (Heidi Kozak) and so is Crystal Bernard.
I have a friend who was in the first movie and she brought some information to my attention that the filmmakers did for fun:
In the scenes at the school when the drill killer is chasing the girl there are posters up on the walls in the hallways saying things like "Try out for the drill team!" ;D

It's a fun movie. The music is what kills it for me. I don't think its remotely scary. But if you want a consistent amount of women boobage this is for you. It's just strange and I don't see how it spawned sequels but its not scary at all.
