Of cousre as most of you know I am a huge fan of the film psycho. Which of course was the first slasher film and was the influence for Halloween. I thought of something....interesting. While yes i know they are not the same but what if Sam Loomis from Psycho was the same Sam Loomis in Halloween? That he had become a psychatrist after encountering Norman Bates. It would fit because Psycho takes place in the 50's and Sam passed away before Psycho 2 ( 1982) and since Halloween 1 and 2 takes place in 1978 and that Loomis was meant to die along with Michael in 2 what if it actually was the same one? I know there not but it would be surely interesting.

The book Psycho is based in the mid 50's and the movie is said to be in the 50's as well.

That's a pretty cool theory. It would have been great if they had tied the two together like that. They could have of made it that Sam Loomis decided after Norman's capture to devote his life to helping children with mental issues as a way to prevent another "Norman Bates" from being created.

It also makes sense because in Psycho 2 Lila Loomis states that her husband died afew years prior, Since Halloween 1 and 2 are on the same night we could say that both Myers and Loomis died in the exlosion, though obviously 4 and beyond detsroys this theory lol

It would be a great way to tie two classics together.

Maybe that was John Carpenter's intention all along. Prety good thinking though

I think it'd be great if the two loomis' were the same guy who wound up having two murderous lunatics in their past.

I thought the naming of Dr. Loomis was an in-joke due to Janet Leigh's daughter Jamie Lee Curtis being in Halloween. I haven't seen Psycho in some time. Did the Loomis in it have an accent? If not it's doubtful they're the same guy. Plus most guys who end up as bald as Dr. Loomis are losing their hair by the age the Loomis was in Psycho.
