I saw these forever just sitting there at the video store but never really was interested until finally I have the first one a shot It's Alive! (1974) which is about a mutant baby born to a couple. John P. Ryan is the dad and really is perfect for this campy horror film which actually has some nice scares. The second one, It Lives Again (1978) also has Ryan, and the story is expanded pretty nicely. Despite some padding, it came off pretty good mostly for the nostalgia of the couches, cars, general atmosphere, but they didn't do enough with the mutants. The supporting cast is funny, and has Frederic Forrest who is a hell of an actor. Island Of the Alive (1987) is the last one and I haven't seen it yet. You all would like these.

I love these movies. Even the 3rd one. Just fun shlocky horror. The remake was horrible. It tried to be WAY too serious.

These films don't really entertain or captivate me like other Horror films, but it does have one redeeming factor to it; at least the first one. The way they handle the topic of abortion is pretty clever. For that, I have to give it mad props.
I saw all 3 many, many, MANY years ago on USA's Up All Night, and have forgotten most of the 2nd and 3rd. All I can remember of those two films is, there were more babies.
