As a lifelong HALLOWEEN fan, Storyboard Artist Federico D’Alessandro always had one dream in mind -- to direct a reboot of the franchise that has always been so near and dear to his heart. So when it was first announced that Platinum Dunes’ was going to be producing the Halloween remake, D’Alessandro used his skills as an artist and animatics supervisor to create a very refined animatic to show the tone and storytelling that he would bring to the project if he were lucky enough to have that chance to direct the film. Unfortunately as we all know talks eventually bottomed out between Platinum Dunes and the Weinsteins temporarily putting a halt on D’Alessandro's lifelong dream. Check out the unfinished pitch below, and if you like the video let your voice be heard D’Alessandro first started his career as a storyboard artist on James Cameron‘s 3D docuemtnary Aliens of the Deep, and worked his way up the ladder working on horror movies like Stay Alive before getting his chance on big studio pictures like I Am Legend, and The Chronicles of Narnia sequels. However for the last couple years, D’Alessandro has been working as the Head Storyboard Artist and Animatics Supervisor over at Marvel Studios, working on all the superhero movies: Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. This has been floating around as a (hopeful) pitch to make a new Halloween film this is a series of animated storyboards as to how it would start. I personally think it's brilliant.

I wish he had had a chance to do this before Rob Zombie did.

am I the only one who hates the Weinsteins? Not at all! Rob Zombie never wants to work with them again after his experiences on Halloween and Halloween II. All they do is meddle with the intentions of the director.

I don't blame Rob at all. I bet you his Halloween's would have totally been different had they not messed with him.

The director's cut of RZH2 is his vision for the most part, while the theatrical cut is all Weinstein interference.

The only part of the process that he should get some assistance with is writing dialogue. It has hindered most of his films to some degree. Just let him do whatever he wants when it comes to the visuals.

I think part of his style is the dialogue. The salty language his characters use is a lot closer to the way people speak than most films. It may come across as needlessly crass. But truthfully it isn't much of an exaggeration of how the average Joe speaks.

The language doesn't bother me, just how clunky it comes across at times. It worked fine for The Devil's Rejects, but was kind of awkward for the Halloween remake.

I guess it would be better if certain characters didn't swear in the Halloween films. It was kind of shocking to here Laurie's dad say shit. Him saying it fit though. He had an accident and swore because of it. At least he wasn't swearing like a sailor every other word. That would have been inappropriate to the type of character he was. I may be misremembering. Because I haven't seen either of his Halloweens enough times to memorize lines. But wasn't it the trashier characters doing the swearing? It was shocking to hear her Father swear due to the fact he wasn't using that kind of language every other word.

I don't remember much of the RZ Hallowen movies because I was turned of by them when I saw them, and never wnet back to check, but the language was a bit of a distraction, not that I have delicate ears.
