Adam Green wouldn't be a "yes man," so the studio wouldn't think about it. They probably also saw his MPAA rant.

When PD is involved with a remake, I expect a franchise to stall. Sure, it might make some money and get half decent reviews, but they are unable to create a long term plan. I think you're understating the obvious.

Green is definitely not a yes man. It's a shame the studios require a person to be a yes man in order to do business. If filmmakers with vision were allowed to do things their way when working with the big franchises we might actually get something refreshing for a change. I have no doubt in my mind at all that if Adam Green was given the reins to the Friday the 13th franchise he could reinvigorate it.

Well, most known filmmakers with a vision generally wouldn't touch these franchises with a ten foot pole now. That kind of hinders the process. Not in this case, as they would just shut down their opinions.

Which I'll never understand. Friday the 13th is the most profitable if not the most popular horror franchise of all time. Making a Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not slumming it. Horror deserves more respect than Hollywood and the studios give it.

I don't think the casual fans can. I mean other than making fan films. But I know there are people actually in the film industry who are real Friday the 13th fans. In fact I know of one who is a die hard Friday the 13th fan. Adam Green. If the studios would let someone like him make the next Friday the 13th I have no doubt it would end up being a great Friday the 13th. I wish there was a way to convince them to let someone like Green have a go at making a real Friday the 13th. Easier said than done. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I would have no problem with an Adam Green writer/director. I'd personally like one of the original few writers/directors to come back.
This film to be epic to me must have Harry Manfredini score it and have one of the better Jason actors be in it. No more of this silly mess that Platinum Dunes did which is make Jason a weird version of Leatherface.

So long as it isn't called Part XIII, I'm fine. It doesn't make sense to call it that... unless the film intends to take on a campy nature, then I guess I could live with. I'd hate to explain to people why the films go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Goes to Hell, X, Freddy vs. Jason, Remake, and then that one. If anything, it should be called Part 11, possibly 12 if we accept Freddy vs. Jason as a film entry. That said, I'm down for an old school Friday the 13th film. Aside from Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason, and the remake, I've never seen an actual Friday the 13th film in theaters. If you drown, how will you see the movie?

I like this idea, if done right. It's better than the crap they did with the remake that's for sure.

Someone mentioned Ted White coming back to be Elias, or as a Ralph character and I love that idea. Adrienne King would make a great Mrs. Voorhees.

I like all those ideas. If the remake had given Mrs. Voorhees a bigger part than the opening credits Adrienne as Pamela would have been a nice nod to the original.

The fact that Mrs. Voorhees was not a prominent character in the remake lost a lot of points with me. She didn't deserve a nod, she deserved to be a big part of the story. Putting her in the opening credits, when movie-goers are still being seated and shuffling around, was a huge spit in the face of the character. "Movie goers want to see Jason" is no excuse. They also want free popcorn and $5 tickets.

Not that I am counting on it ever happening, but it would certainly be ironic to see him become a "yes man" after all of that resistance.

Because the initial test version of the film shown didn't even have her in the opening credits. How they could think not including her at all was going to fly I can't say. It would have been even more insulting than what they did.
