As long as 3D doesn't become a permanent staple in cinema viewing, i'm happy.

It was big in the 50's and then in the 80's. The use of it now is an attempt to boost ticket sales at a time when home video is so popular.

I have seen Tron Legacy and Avatar in 3D, both of which were shot in the format. Like a lot of people, I can't stand bad post-production conversions.

They are post producing TITANTIC AND THE LION KING as well and re-releasing. Dare I ask WHY it will add NOTHING to that movie >_> I guess people are tired of this cheap theaterical gimmick. I haven't heard anything about 3D TVs in a while either, maybe they will die too.

I still see 3DTV displays at Best Buy and Future Shop. The common movie to use as an example is Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, specifically the cheeseburger rain. I have to admit that the depth of it is incredible.
As for why all of these movies are getting the 3D treatment, it is all about the money. Star Wars is going 3D and the sucker in me will probably see them.

I'll only see 4 5 and 6 in 3D. The rest, no way lol
