This, Timecop and Universal Soldier are the only films of his I truly enjoyed. Actually in that order. LOL I just never got into Van Damme I guess. Sorry to hear that Kyle... actually I got into Van Damme when he made Bloodsport and Kickboxer. Then kinda stopped watching his movies around 1992. However I watched those two through my whole life. Probably watched Bloodsport 70 times since I was a teen. I watch it about one or two times a year. Any fan has to love this song.
Then in 2006 or so it occurred to me that the early 90's were great times for me. One of the reasons were Van Damme and Steven Segal movies. So I dug deeper and went to DeepDVDDisount.com and bought like 5 other popular movies of his.
Again it hit me in 2012 that I now have a bluray player and need to look up some of his movies. So I did and now I am even exploring the less popular ones from the 2000's. Also all the big names ones that I missed or cant remember. I gotta say it's been overall a great experience. Just watched 3 of this movies that I have never seen this weekend alone. Now Im off to watch another "Double Team" that I have never seen starring Dennis Rodman and JCVD. Should be interesting lol

I love Steven Seagal. I even enjoy his later films. He was great in Machete. LOL As for Van Damme, didn't he make a movie called JCVD? A sort of autobiographical mixed with fictional story where he played himself. How is that film?

Has anyone seen Replicant? That was included on a three movie DVD I bought of his. I'm quite positive I've never seen it before.

Nope never seen it StingerI love Steven Seagal. I even enjoy his later films. He was great in Machete. LOL As for Van Damme, didn't he make a movie called JCVD? A sort of autobiographical mixed with fictional story where he played himself. How is that film? Yes he did Kyle but I ran out of room... he made more than 35 movies! lol So I left out that one because it's a doc of some kind I heard.
I didnt get to watch Double Team yet, so I watched No Surrender No Retreat. Although Van Damme is in 5% of the movie it was one of the greatest cheesiest 80's martial arts movies I have ever seen! LOVED IT!

Just watched "Nowhere to Run" and I must say... I have become a massive Van Damme fan as of late. I have seen about 20 of his movies and I really dont rate one under 6.5 or 7 and most of them are 8 or better.
I had no idea what I was missing all these years. It's has been an amazing ride and I really regret underestimating this dude. No matter when he made them, to me most of his movies are great. I wish Arnold made as many movies. Its a shame I have so little to choose from but with the variety Van Damme and Stallone and Segal put out I have plenty of action entertainment.
Steven segal will be the next guy whos movies I explore. I have a feeling they wont be as good. Especially his newer ones but it will be fun giving them a try.

His films definitely dip in quality. But I still love them. I know how dangerous he really is. So I don't have any trouble believing he can beat everyone he fight in the films. As large as he's gotten he's still amazingly agile and quick. Of course with his style of martial arts you use your enemy's energy against them. It's not flashy, but it's damn effective. I like his style. he's very cool under pressure.

I can remember loving JCVD when I was young and always renting his movies. I probably haven't seen some of these in fifteen to twenty years. The only ones I've seen of his in recent years besides Expendables 2 are Universal Soldier 3, Desert Heat, and Derailed.

For a second I thought it said select 1, cause that would be pretty much impossible for me ;D. Another awesome thread Alex, have to wait a few hours but more Campers Killed coming your way. I was just going to say didn't see Desert Heat aka Inferno in the line-up, but Stinger mentioned it. That is another one that is ranked up in the tops.
Seagal vs. Van Dam...that is a whole new controversy. I've seen & heard the blood between these two. Its pretty much like Crips & Bloods. Seagal really did make some great films as well. The #1 Seagal film for me is Marked for Death.
This was a section I focused on during my collecting in the Action genre. Most of which (75%) of blurays owned already from Stallone, Arnold, Seagal, Van Damme, Norris, Jet Li, Statham, Willis & Lundgren. Been at this for a while & every month there is usually something new from one of them that is being transferred from DVD to Bluray. Its pretty much like a building collection till i die, sooner or later everything will be featured from DVD to Bluray. Who knows maybe a new type of transfer (2nd generation) is established.

I just bought a used copy of Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning for $11.44 total. I also got Assassination Games and Until Death, I've never seen those before.

I haven't seen very many of his newer movies, but I loved his stuff from the 90's. My top three favorites in order would have to be Blood Sport, Kickboxer, and Lionheart.
