This movie ended up doing worse than Arnold with only 4.5 million. I'm really shocked.

I wasn't all that surprised. Both of them have struggled to bring in the crowds at this stage in their career.
It probably didn't help that Stallone made some gun-related comments given the content of the film.

I didn't even know about the film. This and "The Last Stand" didn't have the best advertising. I remember when both of them had enormous advertising behind their new films when they were coming out.
EDIT
Maybe they should both go the direct to DVD route that Seagal has. Only doing a theatrical film on occasion as a supporting character.

I'm not sure, at this age & time its understandable but wasn't expecting the outcome to be so terrible.
All Stallone does is wave his magic wand & call up any all-star for Expendables 3.
I'm really shocked though to the opening of Bullet to the Head. Not like the opening compared to Rambo, Expendables 1 & 2 (Year & age wise).
Then you got T5 coming up....
Its hard to judge!!! Strange!!!

Im surprised nostalgia doesnt play a stronger role in the box office. I mean these are two guys who have made some of the greatest films every and are both very recognizable names in pop culture. I can understand the youth not caring too much but what about everyone 30 - 55? Dont those people wanna see their favs keep at it in their few remaining years? Dont they wanna relive those glory days?
Its funny because with movies like Expendables 2 , you get the idea that Stallone is still the credible one who is taken seriously and Arnold is more of a parody of himself at this point. Meanwhile in reality it wouldnt be out of place to see Stallones entire script be one liners from Rocky and Rambo movies, in a new movie that Arnold is the star of.
Well they made a total of around 11 mill opening weekend separately... now lets see how the movie they are both in does.... that may tell you whether or not they are going to go the Seagal /Van Damme route. Straight to video...

That seems to be the exception to this lack of success. Of course, a movie with pretty much every action movie star ever will make good money at the box office.
