I was doing research about the Frankenstein movies and found this.. www.imdb.com/title/tt0109836/Mary Shelly is the original Writer of Frankenstein. Just like how Bram Stoker is the original writer for Dracula... Is the 1994 film a remake of the Classic Boris Karloff Frankenstein(1931)? Did they do the same thing they did with the 1931 Dracula make another version and just Place the writers name on Top of the title... "Bram Stokers Dracula"(1992)? Hmmmmmm Anybody see this 1994 version Of Frankenstein.. Is it any good?

So the 1931 version was more on the monsterside then yes? Yes. The Monster in that movie isn't like the book version at all. The Monster in the book was actually very smart and could speak quite well. Truthfully the 1931 version has very little to do with the book at all.

The 1994 version is amazing I have all the remakes on DVD... Drac, Frank, Wolf...
Frank 1994 is like watching Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein back to back. The ending is so scary and tragic and I still get chills when I think about it.
Robert Deniro plays frankenstein Monster.

Bram Stokers is absolutely amazing! and have amazing remakes! The bride is the creepiest thing I have ever seen! That's the part that gives me chills! I knew you'd love it! I bought them both on a Halloween discount in 2001. They are classics instantly, the movie Wolf is not as good as them but it's cool. Jack Nicholson is the Wolfman.

I think it was very realistic looking. I do miss the rectangle head though what a brilliant idea. I wonder if Jack Pierce came up with the concept.

I love the classic Boris karloff frankenstein look ...and i highly respect the remakes choice not to step on Karloffs shoes...they did something new..i think robert De Niro did an awesome job as Frankenstein

I havnt watched the 94 remake fully yet.. Like many movies on tv ive just seen snippets as i channel surf.. I'm gonna have to go and rent it out..
Bram Stokers Dracula is a sweet flick, Im kicking myself as they had it on offer in blockybusters for sale not so long ago and i didnt end up purchasing it... Im gonna ask for Brammys dracula for chrimbo.. I might ask for Mary Shellys Frankenstien as well..
Is it at the beginning of Bride of Frankenstein that an actress portrays Mary Shelly at the start of the film.. Im pretty Sure its Bride..

This is probably considered blasphemy to say this around here. Especially with how much the classics are loved. But I actually think Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is the best Frankenstein movie ever made. Maybe I like it so much because it's so much closer to the book. Don't get me wrong. I love the Universal Frankenstein movies. But I really enjoyed the Mary Shelley one more.

Although he's a great actor, I really didn't think De Niro would be able to pull it off playing Frankenstein. Well, he suprised me. If you haven't seen this one yet, definitely check it out. Like Kyle said, don't expect a remake of the 1931 version, this one follows the book more closely and in ways, is better for it.
