Is he more into the classic Turtles or the new ones? Good "Turtle Gravy", look at all those fans! This video is from the 25th Anniversary convention, apparently they broke the world's record for the most people dressed like the Turtles or something like that! ;D Boy I wish I was there, it's nice to be around so many people that love the same thing you do!

Thats great to see a younger generation loving the original TMNT. It seems like every passing day the original series is making more of a come back every day! Don't it?

I absolutely agree man! It's as cool today as it was in 1989! I think the coolest thing about TMNT is that everything they do is quality! Everything except the Turtles on Tour. That is the ONLY thing out of all there ventures that is lame.
The original comics are cool, the original cartoon, the movies (well part 1,2 and TMNT, the new cartoon, the new comics. It's hard to find an entertainment venture of there's that's not good.

I still eat Ellios Pizza to THIS DAY because of the TMNT! I have it in my freezer as I type!
By the way I can not believe how many times I have watched the Eye of Sarnoff quadrilogy.
The Incredible Shrinking Turtles It came from beneath the Sewers The mean Machines Curse of the Evil Eye
I watched um again today on my iPod while I was working! This has to be my fav continuous storyline episode batch the TMNT ever did. I haven't watched Season One's 5 episodes or The Big Rip-Off to The Big Blowout this many times! I maybe love it so much because I remember so much of it when i was 14.
I have seen the whole thing about 15 times I'm sure. Maybe even more but prob not. It's just so great! A true classic!

They start going after Shredder eventually but only because he has the eye. So I guess they are still after the eye of Sarnoff.
What have they done to the TMNT in the new cartoon "Back to the Sewers"?

Yeah, they don't bother me that much anyway! Okay, I've been working on this for sometime now! Here's my review of the original show! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! It was the biggest hit with kids during the late 80's and early 90's! It sponed all kinds of hip and of course, merchandise! Such as comics, toys, accessories and the cartoon! It was big, it eventually got big enough to get 3 movies! The first one was really good, the second one was not too bad and the third was really bad! Well I just want to talk about the original cartoon and take you back in time with me! Remember 1984? Well this was the year when Peter Lair and Kevin Eastman created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! It started as a little joke that two artist started. It eventually turn into a poster with 4 ninja turtles and a villain with blades all over his body! The next morning they looked at what they created and said to themselves that this is pretty interesting idea! So that was the birth of the Ninja Turtles! In the late '80s, Playmates' toy sales were dropping no kids were interested in shows like He-Man and G.I. Joe anymore! One day a Playmate employee stumbled upon the underground comic series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Mirage Studios! The employee takes the idea of making these Ninja Turtles into a line of action figure to the big boss, but the head of Playmates didn't like the concept! He said no kid would want to buy a toy that doesn't have a cartoon show! So then it hit them, they could get some production company to produce a cartoon series! Thats when Wolf Productions and Family Home Entertainment came in! They get together at meeting with Lair and Eastman to talk about the idea of creating a cartoon show out of their hit comic book series! Of course the show had to be tone down since the actually comic was filled with violences and it was intended to more mature readers. So, on December 28, 1987, the first episode of the cartoon series aired! Obviously the show was a big hit and it swept the nation and even the world! In Japan, they even had their own version of the show! The art was much more better but from the looks of it the story looked hard to follow! Anyway, the American show was great! It was extremely different from what Peter Lair and Kevin Eastman had in mind! In fact in a recent interview with Peter Lair, he said he absolutely hated the original cartoon, but despite the show being wrong in accuracy and just freakin weird, it was a really great show! I know people who grew up watching it and today in their 20's or early 30's still love watching it and talking about it! All the characters in the original show are so likable! Leonardo is the leader but still clueless, Donatello is the smart one but has his funny moments as a smart ass, Raphael is the wise cracking turtle, he's not the grumpy guy that dose stuff on his own like in the comic or any of the other movies and TV shows. Michaelangelo is always the party turtle that has all the catch phrases, Splinter is the one who teaches the turtles how to be a good ninjas, April O'Neil is the damsel in distress but sometimes kicks ass! Shredder is the bad guy who's always after the turtles or whatever he wants but he's still human and thats what makes him so interesting, Krang is the evil brain from Dimension X that has all the evil plans and Shredder had to follow. What makes him an interesting character is that there's never been a character like him and he's also funny! Bebop and Rocksteady are the bumbling henchmen to Shredder and Krang, there all great even the made up bad guys like Pinky McFingers or Big Louie! The show ended in in 1996 with their tenth season. After that there was other Ninja Turtle shows like "The Next Mutation" and the remake of the original show in 2003! The Next Mutation was created by Saban, creators of "Power Rangers" and Next Mutation was really bad and it's not worth getting into! The the show in 2003 isn't bad, I just couldn't get into it! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a great show and it's still is! I'll always be a fan for the rest of my life! Ninja Turtles is pop culture phenomenon and I don't see it disappearing anytime soon It just turn 25 years old and I feel old just thinking about it and it's a real strange feeling knowing I was apart of this from it's early days and now I see a new generation enjoying the thing I really enjoyed growing up! So long live the Turtle!

Wow Tim that was really great! I don't know what possessed you to do that but I'm glad you did!
BTW I have some bad news. I REALLY don't think i will be owning all 10 Seasons with ya bud...
You know how much I love Shredder and what makes him lovable was James Avery. Even the episodes where Shredder was replaced for just one ep out of 20 seemed so cold. The replacement guy just has absolutely no warmth to him whatsoever. It's just a stereotypical cartoon villain approach to the voice. I always felt that way and after reading the review I found for Season 7 on Amazon I am about to post makes it worse. I guess hearing someone else saying it kinda validates your feelings.
I just can not continue on After Season 7 and may not even buy all 4 Discs. I will probably find out what ep James Avery played Shredder last and not get the 3rd or 4th Disc depending on which one it was.
Well here's the review that changed my mind.
The seventh season of this series aired in the second half of 1993. It is notable for a number of reasons, the most obvious being that it marked the end of an era in terms of the overall tone and look of the show. Starting with the show's eighth season, which aired the following year, nearly all the hallmarks of the show - all the touchstones that made the series what it was - would be gone. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let us break down the seventh season of the show.
The first 13 episodes of the seventh season are what fans have dubbed the "European Vacation" shows. These episodes have always been a bit of a mystery among fans, if only because, in some aspects of the story, they seem to be out of place in the seventh season. During the first episode of the fourth season, the Turtles find out that they have won a vacation to Europe. So, it would stand to reason that the first leg of season four would be the Turtles' adventures traveling across Europe. This they do; some of the storylines take place in France, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Turkey. Along the way, familiar characters (Shredder and Krang), and some not so familiar (Erik the Red Eye, a modern-day Viking), attempt various nefarious schemes at taking over the world. Many theories abound as to why this fourth season storyline did not see the light of day until the beginning of the seventh season (animation and/or scheduling problems being the most popular), but at least fans can rest easy that all of the "European Vacation" episodes have finally made it to DVD.
That being said, however, the end of the "European Vacation" episodes and the "beginning" of the seventh season can be a bit jarring when viewing the shows in succession. While the aforementioned episodes run parallel to the themes, tone and overall look of the show during its third and fourth seasons, the remaining 14 episodes mark a stark contrast to them.
By the time 1993 rolled around, Saturday morning cartoons were changing. Light and fluffy were out; dark and edgy were in. The "beginning" of the seventh season (after the "European Vacation" episodes) marked a trial run into this territory. Episodes were a bit darker in theme than they had been in seasons past, but not so much that what made the show great in the first place - humor, pizza references, and terrific characters - was lost. It wasn't until the eighth season that the show went whole hog and introduced a completely revamped (darker and edgier) premise, virtually dropping everything fans had come to know and love about the series.
The first foray in this experiment was "Night of the Dark Turtle," a fabulous episode that sees Donatello temporarily explore a darker side to his personality. Everything about this episode works: terrific humor, great action sequences, outstanding animation, and rocking background music. "Night of the Dark Turtle" is not only a highlight of the seventh season, but it represents one of the best episodes of the entire series.
Something that is not a highlight, however, is the loss of James Avery ("Fresh Prince of Bel Air") halfway through the season as the voice of Shredder. From the beginning of the series, James Avery managed to make Shredder a three-dimensional character, as opposed to a run-of-the-mill, one-note, cardboard cutout that most villains on cartoons encapsulate. Shredder could be scary, for sure, as a typical bad guy; but he could also be quite hilarious, and Avery breathed much life into the role. Many fans view Shredder and Krang as a married couple because of the amount of bickering they do with each other. The improvisations that both actors brought to their roles created lasting characters that fans loved, even though they were villains. After Avery left the show for reasons unknown, the voice actor who replaced him did absolutely nothing with the Shredder role except to play it as a stereotypical, one-dimensional bad guy. To say that James Avery was missed as the seventh season came to a close is a vast understatement.
THE DVD SET
To celebrate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th anniversary (somehow, Young Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles doesn't have quite the same ring to it), Lionsgate has decided to do something a little different with the release of the seventh season. It has been broken up into four parts, or slices, and each Turtle has one. When combined the four slices fit together to create one scene on your DVD shelf.
But the surprises don't stop there. Each DVD slice will also include an original Ninja Turtles toy from Playmates, the toy company that produced the classic Turtle toys all through the show's run. I may not always like the DVD releases Lionsgate comes up with for this show, but the fact that they have pulled out some major stops to celebrate the show's 25th anniversary is commendable and has me eagerly anticipating May 12, 2009.
