What made you get into these guys?
I can thank my dad for the Classic Universal Monsters. When I was 14 my dad bought Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein and I was drop dead hooked...
I saved up all my allowence and bought basically each Universal Monster VHS tape as I could get to the mall. I still remember them being $14.98 each! That's a lot! Now you can get 5 movies from one monster on DVD for $19.99!
So I have been into them since 1994 and loved them instantly and always have and always will. I bought every Legacy DVD as it came out, I started off by getting the first collection with Frank, Drac and Wolfman busts included.

When I was 10, I think, I heard some reference to edgar allen poe, can't remember where, but I wen't to the library the next day and checked out some of his poems, I was hooked. Naturally I also read Frankenstein, Dracula and a few others, the books got me into the movies, wich eventualy turned into an all-around horror obsession ;D

I remember watching the old Universal horror movies on late-night tv many years ago. I guess that's what started the ball rolling for me.

Watching Joe Bob Briggs talk about them on TNT's MonsterVision that came on every Saturday, showed 2 or 3 Horror-themed movies each Saturday, and with Joe Bob hosting it was awesome... God, I miss that show.
I remember him dedicating one show to showing a newer version of a movie, then showing an older. I believe it was a Dracula movie from the early 30s followed by one from the 80s. Great stuff, but I really liked watching the old War of the Worlds.

Probably from reading in my case. I started reading at a young age and always read above my age level. I was reading Frankenstein and Dracula at around 6-7 years old. So that got me into the movies. I remember not understanding why the books and movies were so different. In the book Frankensteins monster is actually quite smart and speaks fairly well. But I still loved the movies.

That must been some night in those theators. My grandmother told me that she went to see the original House of Wax as a child, and it terrified her.

That's cool! I still never seen the original lol :duh: It's funny because even Friday Part 1 scared people! So imagine how tame the times had to be to have these classics give people nightmares.

I asked my grandmother something like that, how today's Horror movies (or even the ones from the 80s) would have been back then. She told me, and I quote: I agree with that, she's such a smart woman.

Could you just imagine though if there was some way to take back say Friday The 13th to that audience and show it to them what their reaction would be? I could just see the heart attacks waiting to happen.

Cool man I'm glad I was able to impact your life in such a positive way. Things like that make me feel like there is a good reason for me to be alive ;D I like to help people discover great things that they never put much thought into before. I did that for Mrs. Voorhees and Eve_L as well with Friday the 13ths and all the Halloweens. It's a great feeling
