Those are good comparisons on the fly. I would say somehere between 2 and 3. better than RE Apocolypse, which is OK but I dont care if I see it again, and The Matrix, which is pretty good for it's own reasons. Hence my rating of 3.5.
HO1KC- 4.5 Devils Rejects- 4.0 Halloween 3.5
He's slowly gotten worse, I will admit to that.

Thanks!
I tried to pick movies most of us agreed on.
Here is how I see things:
1000 Corpses -0/5 TDR - 4/5 Remake -1/5
He hit a home run with TDR and was in his element.
In terms of my 5 tier system, it is bad, but not the worst ever.

Ynow what, I was thinking Extinction when you said Apocolypse. Not great but was worth watching once. Some decent gore. I liked RE Apocolypse better, not quite as much as Halloween but a half point less and I will watch them both again.

Well I know I have come on here and not said the nicest things about this movie and I guess I coulda keep it to myself after the first review I gave. I guess the same way you feel you have to defend it, I feel I have to give people a "wake up call" which is not really a wake up call... its baically what I feel is the most logical take on this movie. Its just my opinion which is as important as yours. I guess I feel we have the right to tell it how we see it just as you do. However I suppose mine is bringing negitivity here while you XN and Colt bring more positive vibes with your feelings on it. I will really try to refrain from straight bashing. I have not bashed however without giving specific reasons for my negitivity. And neither has Kyle and I believe Jer hasnt said generic comments either. I have to double check. Either way, OF COURSE no hard feelings. Its all in good fun
HO1KC- 4.5 Devils Rejects- 4.0 Halloween 3.5 I agree as well, he got worse as he went on. I would say 3,2.5,1 though

Everythings been cool on my end and with evryone else too. I just have wanted to squash it for a long time before it got too heated. No movie is worth that, especially an average slasher. Peace.

I don't just decide to mention it a few times of week on here and try to start a silly debate on it.I don't come by a few times a week and bash it for a reaction. I actually got involved here when I saw you grouping people who didn't like it. Acting as if we belong to a family of haters. Why are we haters because of this waste of film but not for disliking Halloween 8? Since when does this movie define a person? I respect your opinion however I dont like being grouped in or labeled to anything. I come on here and just speak the truth in my opinions. Another misunderstanding I see. I was not grouping people into a haters category. if someone hates a movie, so be it, that is their opinion and they are entitled to it. My only problem ever here is when people will take any thread or topic and find a way to throw a cheap shot at the movie any chance they get. it does happen, and when it does, I respond. Just like if I was on another board and some people continually bashed Friday part 2, i would naturally respond back when it appeared it was a movie under attack. I am not putting RZ Halloween in the same league as Part 2, not by any stretch of the imagination, but if someone continously bashes something I like just to bash it, I might have something to say about it. Honestly Demon, you don't even do that. Jeremy and Kyle do it a lot and I say something back sometimes and we debate, but it doesn't get ugly. I don't know why you of all people think I'm calling you out on anything or labeling you or anybody here, cause I wouldn't do that.I throw cheap shots? The most I do is use it as an example. And maybe I wouldn't feel like doing it so much if I didn't have someone shit down my neck because I don't like it. Unlike a lot of people I've actually given good reasons why I don't like it. If I just gave general pot shots I could see you feeling like you had to defend it. Well actually no I couldn't. The fact you just compared defending a great movie like Friday part 2 to defending this movie is actually a little sickening. You say you aren't putting it in the same league yet you still used it as an example. I don't bash the movie just to bash it. In fact lately I haven't been talking about the movie but defending my right to dislike it.Which I shouldn't have to do. And the fact I'm not a hater. I don't dislike the film based on it being a remake or not liking Zombie. I think it's a poorly made movie. The fact that I've said that multiple times yet you still insist I'm bashing it just to bash it tells me you either a. skipped every one of my posts where I said it or b. don't believe me. I'm through discussing this film. Trying to get a point across on here sometimes is like beating your head against the wall. EDITI just read the rest of the thread. I'm still done discussing this movie. And I don't want any hard feelings. I'm just getting tired of people lumping me with "haters" and now saying I'm bashing a movie just to bash it. It is literally like they aren't reading my posts. I've explained in plenty of places in detail why I felt this was a bad film. I should have the right to hold that opinion.

Hey Kyle, here is an example of throwing it in just to bash it.
Re: Prom Night 2008 trailer. « Reply #3 on Jan 4, 2008, 8:42pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Come on Jeremy. Give it a chance. It may end up being good. Not all remakes are crap like Halloween."
It just appeared to me that is taking an oppurtunity to bash it once again. Maybe I think too manipulative or give others too much credit for their actions, but i saw a comment like that as just inserted in there to throw another rock at the fans of the movie.
If I'm wrong I do apologize it just seemed that every chance some people got to mention it in a negative light in any related or unrelated discussion they took it. No hard feelings Kyle. You are and always have been cool in my book. I thought Jer was the #1 offender in this crusade actually but weve discussed it and it's all good. I only used part 2 because that was a movie that i felt we all loved as a group so maybe we could all relate.

That wasn't bashing the fans of the movie. Did I even mention people that like the film? I was using it as an example of a bad remake and TCM as an example of a good remake. You need to stop reading into things. I don't hide my opinions. That isn't my style. If I wanted to say something negative about the fans of the new Halloween I'd just do it. But I wouldn't do that. Insulting someone because they like a movie I don't would be a waste of my time. Because It doesn't matter to me if people have different opinions than I do when it comes to a movie. I don't take it personally. Plus insulting someone personally is against the rules on here. I take the rules seriously. Also taking someone having a different opinion than me personally is a waste of time too. Some people act like they had a Family member killed in front of them with how personally they are taking the differing opinions. It's just silly. These are opinions on movies. Not exactly the most important life altering thing in the world. The reason I used Halloween in that example is because it's the most recent bad remake. I know you and a few others on here like the film. But you do realize you are in the minority by having that opinion of the film? Most horror fans didn't enjoy it and when looking at it as a remake thus comparing it to the original it's even more disliked. If the thread you got that quote from had been made 6 months before I would have used The Hills Have Eyes Part 2 as the example for the bad remake. Because that was the last really bad remake that came out. Wow that movie was bad. But then again the original Hills Have Eyes 2 wasn't a Masterpiece. LOL

Gotcha Kyle. I suppose I worded it wrong when I said insulting the fans of the move as I meant insulting the movie itself just to do it. I know you werent getting personal with me at all, I just read into it too deeply as I often do. I was born with a manipulative type of mind and sometimes say and do things to get reactions from others without it appearing that way and by default I think others do the same to me. Playing dumb works also lol. I am sorry. it is an evil talent and I wish I did not have it. I have used it less and less and the years have gone by even though Brandi thinks even though it's bad it can be used for good, but I digress.
I guess i got a little fed up of hearing the constant bashing is all, my own problem really. I must agree on the Hills Have Eyes part II original and remake as being total crap though.
Not so sure on the general opinion on the movie of the horror fans. I would say it is just as mixed as TCM and DOTD remakes were, but I dunno. I would have to look at IMDB and Amazon and other review places to get a clearer picture. Either way, it's just a silly slasher that IMO got a bad rap cuz of it's origin and director
Once again, I'm glad we're clearing this up. No need for petty bickering over this, I would much rather let it be as I really dislike arguing with people that I like.

I guess you just need to not take it personally. Like I said getting defensive or upset over movie opinions is pretty silly. I wasn't attacking anyone by using Halloween as an example and honestly I wasn't attacking Halloween. It just happened to be the most recent example so it was the first one that popped into my head. Anywhoodles I really am done talking about this film. I've given my opinion and thoughts about pretty much every aspect of the movie.

Some facts from IMDB:
In an early scene in the film, the movie White Zombie (1932) is playing on the TV. The band ‘White Zombie’, whose name comes from the film, is where Director Rob Zombie first gained attention in the 1980s and 1990s
The ending in the work print (often called "The Sonny Corleone Ending" by Zombie) was never intended to be the real ending, and was filmed and used in the work print to keep the real ending secret.
While calling 9-1-1 to get help for the injured Annie, Laurie identifies the street she is on as "Winchester Road". "Winchester" is the name of the production company which produced the horror classic The Thing from Another World (1951) by Howard Hawks. The movie prominently appears on the TV during a horror movie marathon on both this version of "Halloween" and the original film by 'John Carptenter (I)' . Carpenter later remade "The Thing". This was Rob Zombie's nod to the originals and remakes of both films.

Zombie claims that the work print ending was never going to be the real ending, but anyone with a brain knows that the studio made him do a new one.
