I recommended this to abraxas in another thread, and thought it deserved a thread for discussion here as well. Reporter Beth Chandler drives to the small Tennessee town of Oldfield to interview historian Julian White, who's niece was recently executed after being convicted of several murders. White tells Chandler of Oldfield's grisly past, relating four horrible stories of murder and mayhem. Also known as The Offspring and starring the legendary Vincent Price, From a Whisper to a Scream is a wrongfully forgotten movie that is one of my favorite horror anthologies. Look for genre vets Clu Gulager and Cameron Mitchell, as well as Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood's Terry Kiser in the best tale of the bunch. Comments?

That's weird, I'd always known From a Whisper to a Scream by that title up until a few days ago when I found out it also went by The Offspring. Whisper wasn't Price's last film, he was in a few others, including Edward Scissorhands in 1990. He also did some voice work before his death.

It has always been called From a Whisper to a Scream in oz, and it's a pretty decent anthology the civil war story with the kids being my favourite. and of course Vincent Price which makes it worth having for that reason alone.

I absolutely love this movie too Friday. The first segment was really disturbing to watch. That old guy having sex with the dead and that demon baby thing. Really good stuff here.

My favorite was probably the segment with Terry Kiser. Those make-up effects were grotesque!
