I had to start a thread about this movie because I watched it today for the first time in many years and I really really love it. The reasons I love it are because of Edward Furlong who's really good in it and also the main villian, The Trickster is really cool and memorable. I also really like the soundtrack which is mostly 90's hard rock like grunge and industrial metal and of course Primus ! The movie works as both a horror film and a psychological thriller. There's not a huge body count or a ton of blood but the movie is very intense and scary. I think the ending hints at a potential sequel but the movie bombed and alas it never happened. This was before the pre Scream trend had started and horror type films werent too hot at that time. Its a unique and original film that was ahead of its time.

Brain scan is such an underrated horror gem.The trickster could have easily been in the same ranks as Jason or Freddy.
Great horror movie man! Thanks for posting.

The Trickster was definately a memorable character. This is one of the movies that needs a second and third viewing to really appreciate it.

You can find Brainscan on amazon. For those who already seen this movie my question is this-if a game really existed that allowed you to take total control and murder everyone in the game, would you play?
This game would be identical to the one featured in the movie-the person sits down in a chair and gets hypnotized, then the person is transported into another state of consciousness ,where the player can move and interact just like in the real world.
If that type of experience really existed,i would be interested to see what people would actually do in it.What would your limits be?
I wonder what i would do #think#
Brainscan the movie is a great horror adventure

I would not want to kill my friends like how the Trickster made the kid do. If they were witnessess I'd trust them that they wouldnt tell.

I would definitely not kill my friends. But when it comes to the other people, I don't know about it.
The brainscan game would definitely test my limits.
