I'm a huge fan of horror movies and have a vast horror movie collection and I'm by far a fan of the more classic horror movies. For example I love the original Texas chainsaw Massacre and other horror movies from that time period. The film quality was bad, the blood and gore was a little cheesier looking an most of the time it was over the top, the acting wasn't the greatest, and there wasn't any CGI...but that is what made the movies great. I know that there are people out there that will disagree but that's why everyone has there own opinion. For me at least my favorite horror movies come from the early 80's and anytime before that, including black and white horror movies. Once you got into the late 80's and early 90's the general feel of horror movies began to change. Everything I stated that made all of those earlier horror movies good started going in the other direction. Like film quality was getting better, everyone was starting to put more and more CGI in there movies as the years went by. Now they just don't have that old feeling the movies use to and in my opinion it has ruined horror movies. Here is a perfect example I'm going to post 2 short clips. One will be of the 1974 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the other will be of the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.(1974) (2003) I just posted the original trailers from the 2 movies. You tell me what one looks scarier and which one you'd rather watch....the 1974 TCM all day long right? This is what is wrong with horror movies today they just don't have that gritty, scary feeling that the old horror movies bring to the table. I know some people out there prefer the newer, cleaner look to the movies now a days but for me...it's all about the old classic look and feel of all the horror movies from back in the day.Mike
