Hmmm. . .
I am not sure they should keep on going. I still want to see part 2, but it just does not seem like they can assemble a cast as great as in the original movie: Dianne Wiest, Barnard Hughes, Keifer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, etc.

Kind of funny. It was a solo movie for so many years and now we're going to have two sequels within a couple of years.

Yeah, unfortunately that's the truth. I guess since many of today's horror movies are remakes or sequels it does not matter who is cast. The audience watches the movie for the movie and not the stars in the movie. Genre films just work this way because science fiction fans watch because it's sci fi.
And as far as independent horror, it seems blood and nudity are what sale the product.
I think this is sad because I like horror films, and would appreciate viewing a talented cast in the movies.

Thats exactly the same way i feel Terri, and thats the main reason i love the older stuff. Newer doesn't necessarily mean its a better product.I did enjoy the Texas chainsaw remake, but i always enjoyed the original more because of the fantastic atmosphere they captured back then.
Lost Boys 2 was an ok film, but it just didn't measure up to the first one. I'm just satisfied to know that whatever the future brings for horror,i'll still have all the films from the past-starting from 1922 and on. Those years will never be forgotten for me.

I still need to see the second one. I know most people don't seem to like it much, but I'm going to give it a chance anyway.

Absolutely Friday. LB2 is not an abomination at all.I'm pretty sure if i never saw the original lost boys,LB2 would have looked much better. But as a stand alone film its ok.
