What about The Hills Have Eyes? That was a good movie as well. Last House, Hills, NOES, Shocker, Deadly Friend, Serpent and the Rainbow, People Under the Stairs, new Nightmare and Scream are all movies of his I could watch on any given day.

The Hills Have Eyes was awesome, other than NOES it's my favorite Craven film. However, it just didn't have the impact on the genre that the 3 previously mentioned films did. Those are some fun flicks you mentioned Chainsaw. I also liked The Hills Have Eyes Part II (1985), it was much better than the recent Hills 2 remake IMO.

That one really was awful wasn't it? Its an insult to include it with the originals.

We had company in and I didn't get a chance to go. Maybe next weekend I'm off.

I haven't heard a bad review yet. I'm not saying people are raving about it but it isn't being trashed like a remake usually is. This could and will be 3 straight R rated horrors that are successful though. Just what the genre needs no doubt.

Saw it last night. I thought it was pretty good - but I wouldn't necesaarily call it great.
I for one am not a huge fan of the original - so I actually liked it better than that.
Overall - definitely worth a watch.
7/10

I saw it tongiht and really liked it. I was hooked from the first minute on. Suspenseful, violent, sad, and I got wrapped up in revenge and rooting for characters throughout.
8/10
Definately one of the better remakes.

Being the father of a girl may have helped me to be sucked into it more. I dunno, but it is still worth seeing that's for sure.

That's more than understandable especially if it really is a remake of the original.

Was it actually that good? I never really saw the original. I mean I rented it but never got a chance to watch it. Perhaps i'll take a look at both the original and the remake.

If you like tales of revenge you will like this movie. Yes, watch them both.

Heads up though the original has some scenes that are definetly not for the squemish. But its really in a class of its own and deserves at least one viewing.

I can't believe that nobody has yet mentioned that Tony Goldwyn (Jason Lives) has a big part in this movie.
