For bitmapped graphics I use PhotoShop CS, for vector graphics I use Illustrator, for motion graphics I use After Effects or Flash, for video editing I use Premiere and for 3D I use 3D Studio Max or Maya

I would like to give it a shot when it comes to making banners. I'm a slow learner when it comes to some things though. Does anybody know of a good simple program that isn't very expensive I could use?

Hey Stinger, just go to download.com. They have tons of free and trial versions of software you can download and test for yourself to see which is best for you. Just look for image editing software.
