I have no clue which version I saw. I'm guessing unrated because the picture quality looked like someone burned it from a DVD. I watched it online. My ending had Laurie in a mental hospital smiling while her Mom and a horse came towards her. Is that how it ended in theaters or is it the unrated one?

Did Michael say "Die!" to Loomis?
If so, that is the director's cut.
Most "unrated" versions are just cheap gimmicks, but this one is a very different film.

He did say die. So was the theatrical version better? I don't know how it could be different enough to improve the film.

Basically in the end Laurie isn't shot and the whole fight between Michael and Loomis takes place in the shack with Michael being shot from a sniper outside, we see Laurie bend over him(I wanna say I remember her stabbing him but I'm not sure) and then she emerges from the shack wearing his mask then it cuts to the scene of her in the mental hospital. During the theatrical there really isn't any of the fighting between Laurie and Annie, the home movie of Annie was cut from it, there was alot less of Laurie in thearpy,as well as quite a few other pieces. After seeing both versions you can tell where Rob Zombie was forced to remove something strictly to cut the overall length.
Personally I like the unrated better but Zomb is right they are two very different versions, so I don't know which you would like better.

I have the "unrated" one loaded up to watch tonight. I watched the other one a couple of week ago for the first time. Hated it. I can't figure out at least lately every time a movie comes out there is a "unrated", "directors cut", "theatrical" version. why not just release ONE or put them all on one package? I'm cheap and really don't feel like shelling out that much money Done ranting now

THose differences do make the theatrical version sound better. But not enough for me to raise my rating. ;D

The only Rob Zombie films i enjoy watching are "House and Rejects".. All the rest are pure crap. I personally think the whole white horse and mama thing was Zombie's way of totally shitting all over the Halloween Franchise that Carpenter started. What a joke. Just the original films for me.

I have to say I watched the entire almost 2 hours of this movie and I am almost ashamed to say this movie was FILMED IN MY TOWN. Parts of this movie were in my town. The same town shows like "In the Heat of the Night" starring Carroll O'Connor was in and the same town that Friday the 13th Part VI and Dukes of Hazzard was at.
Movie gets rated a 1 by the way. Absolute crap. I haven't seen any of his other films aside from Halloween I and II. Does his movies usually do this? This much cussing? Can the acting truly be this bad?
Did this horrible movie really just end this way? I don't know what the theater one is but was this movie just an imagination? Did all the characters just die or what? And is it me or does Rob Zombie have something against this franchise? Loomis was a buttwipe who wanted money, Laurie I just wanted to die the whole movie. I wanted them all to die honestly.
What . . in . . . the . . .blue . . hell was that white horse? I think the thorn thing from the 6th sequel was better than this.
Crap made over. Would not suggest this movie or this reboot to anybody.
Rated 1 on here.

No his first two films, House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects are far better films. Their also his only completely original films so I think with the extra freedom he was able to put his creative stamp on it and not have to try and work within the box of another franchise. I definetly reccommed his first two films and if you have a chance watch House first since Devil's is a continuation of the same main characters.

House Of 1000 Corpses is a acid trip ripoff of TCM.
I quite like TDR.

Actually These Halloween movies have given me more of an appreciation for House and TDR. I'd never say they were great. But compared to his Halloween work they are masterpieces.

I wouldn't say I dislike any of them, I was just let down by the Halloween films he made I thought maybe he could bring a really interesting couple movies to the series. They're not the worst Halloweens IMO that title belongs to Resurrection and Curse.

Thing is the Halloween series has always been great because it was horror suspense not so much a horror slasher that's what at least made the first three so good. Rob Zombie decided to turn it in to no suspense and a total blood bath, everybody is a redneck and Michael Myers looks like Rob Zombie in costume.
I guess his first film is probably better than Resurrection but nothing else.

I rated it an 8. I've seen far worse movies than this. I don't regret spending the $20 for it at all.
