Boris Karloff was the best Frankensteins monster no doubt.

after Karloff stopped playing him they couldn't have him talk. Particualy with Lugosi Funny you should say that actually... I just remember he DID talk with Lugosi's voice! Remember in the Ghost of Frankenstein (spolier) when Ygor (Lugosi) convinced the Dr. to put his brain in the Monster body? Ygor started talking in that scratchy voice while The Monster (Chaney) moved his lips ;D it was pretty funny because the timing was so odd.
You know what's funny about all the Frankenstein movies after the first 2? They are all the same exact plot lines... it's always The Wolfman trying to get cured from being a werewolf and it's always Frankenstein is too weak and he needs to be all fixed up and they have to convince a doctor to take Frankensteins mistake and fix it and make it better. That's so funny ;D

Although Glen was in House of Frankenstein he had more to do in A&C,,and glen Looked cool to me...But don't get confused..Bela Did a great job as Franky..But for my own personal taste..i would have loved to see Glen do it as well..maybe they should of made 2 versions of Franky meets the wolfman for my satisfaction..lol U think? ;D To be honest, as much as I love Bela and Lon... I would have rather seen either Boris or just Glenn as the monster in all the Frank movies. I am really glad it turned out like it did so they can have those roles under there belts. But I liked Glenn much more.

Yea, while I love meets and House Frankenstien I have to admit they ran out of ideas after the third one, but thats big buisness for ya Oh and my best guess as to why he didn't talk in 3 is because he had Ygor to talk for him, he's pretty much reduced to Ygor's bodyguard, wich is realy a shame because they could have gone a lot deeper into it

It's weird... Franks Monster talked in Part 2 and 8 (A&C meet) and that's it... he was supposed to talk in Part 5 (meet Wolf) but Lugosi's voice sounded "awkward" so they cut it all out...
He also talked in Ghost of Frank if you wanna include when Ygor (Lugosi) talked while his brain was in the monsters head. But after Ghost (in Frank meets Wolf, House of Frank, House of Drac and A&C meet)they make no mention that Ygor is now the monster but his blood type was wrong and now he's a blind monster with Ygors brain... strange...
Bela was even a good Frankenstein because he played him properly... blind and as Ygor... too bad people have such short memories and didn't realize when he talked in that accent that it was supposed to be Ygors voice in Frank meets Wolfman... Instead that laughed at it so they had to cut it out.... for some reason they cut out the blind references too... even though he still held his hands straight out.

Who do you think played Frankenstein better, Lon Chaney Jr. or Bela Lugosi? Refere ro my post above this one when thinking about it.

Ahhh dude thats a hard one..seriously
ok well I'm gonna have to go with Lon Chaney Jr. No disrespect to Mr. Lugosi..but i liked Lon Chaney's Franky.

To me Karloff had the best look due to the fact that his head is naturally shaped like a block. Chaney and Strange put on good performances but look like they are about to fall asleep. Lugosi looks like Hermann Munster to me.

Well I havent posted in the Classic section, because I had not seen any of the movies. I did watch Wolfman on AMC last night, while I was watching I heard an interesting little tidbit.
The reason Frankenstein walked the way he did, was because he was supposed to be blind! But then they changed that he wouldnt be blind and I guess had to keep the walk.
I didnt know if anyone knew that.....

I didnt know if anyone knew that..... Yeah I knew it. He was supposed to have Ygor's brain in the movie. And end up blind from the transference. Or something like that. I think it would have made more sense if they'd gone that route. But I guess people laughed when Frankenstein's Monster spoke with Ygor's voice.
