Yeah that's the one. Its the only time we can clearly make out any of Michael's features.

Am I the only one who gave this a 10/10? How anyone could not like this movie is beyond me. Sure it had flaws but not one of them was big enough to take away from the film in my opinion. I'd like to see anyone who has a problem with this try and do it better....you can't. I absolutely loved this movie! As much as I know most of you had problems with ghost mom she did serve a purpose and fit into the story well. I've seen it four times already and plan to see it again at least once before it leaves theaters.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, but why should any of us (who aren't getting paid millions) be expected to create a film better than so called professionals! Only that qualifies us to criticize it? Silly me thinking paying $10 at the theater qualified us for that! And come to think of it, people like Abraxas and d3mon as well as others at CLAD who's videos I've seen most likely could do much better! But again, I'm glad someone liked it..

Agreed, and camper killed. And I just had a passing thought, d3mon and Abraxas should do some kind of collaboration movie. That'd be pretty epic!

Wow, a lot has been said. I saw this and FD last Saturday, one right after the other. I can say that The Final Destination was better.
The good: Michael was brutal and the kills were good overall, more gore than the original and Michael's look was different but I kinda dug the concept. Annie FINALLY get's killed after that BS in the original. Loved the new direction of Loomis and Laurie, although she was annoying once again. It's a slasher, I went in expecting one, and that's what I got. No problem with that.
The bad: The white horse and Mom situation doesn't bother me when Michael has the visions, but Laurie should not. That takes it too far. Was hoping for more of the Carpenter soundtrack like last time but oh well. Big plot hole which didn't even needed to be shown. Michael SPEAKS after his mother is dead which makes no sense considering that in the original movie, he had already stopped talking completely BEFORE his mother dies. LAME. The whole escape was a good concept but a silly cheat. The guy saying "fuck" over and over was a bit uncomfortable. A lot of the good kills ended up being dream sequences which kind of sucks. Also, not really a plot hole, but we are expected to believe that Loomis has a big house in Haddonfield that's just minutes away from the shack in the finale?
Bottom line, it's a slasher and we have been expecting stupid stuff like that for years that defy logic, but it still gets to me. Could have been a much better movie with a few changes but overall not bad just disappointing overall for what could have been.
6.5/10

"Christ - as if we haven't seen enough of that lame director cameo crap from M. Knight" Man I can't believe you dissed M. Knight like that, he is a genius, the only person left in Hollywood who can come up with an original idea for a movie. M. Knight is the biggest hack in Hollywood. Right up there with Michael Bay. He's only made one great movie - and that was The 6th Sense. Everything has been downhill and just about progressively worse since then. Did you SEE Lady in the Water? Or The Happening? Good God. Even Signs was a giant turd. Water killing Aliens?? Retarded - and certainly far from original. Hate that guy. He's the definition of an overrated director....

I've actually enjoyed all of M. Night's movies except Lady in the Water.
He is a bit of an ego- maniac though.

Didn't say Signs was about aliens. I just said that I thought it sucked. Just like the majority of his films.

This movie is out of most theaters by now, but the Weinstein's are "re-releasing" for Halloween, which will amount to a marginal increase in theaters for a day.

Not surprised by them re-releasing it, anything to squeeze a few more bucks out of the public.

Not surprised by them re-releasing it, anything to squeeze a few more bucks out of the public. It won't break any records considering it will have Saw 6 and Paranormal Activity to deal with, and in considerably more theaters.

Until a couple days ago I didn't know a sequel had even come out. I guess I'll rent it on DVD. I don't have high hopes though considering how much I disliked the first one.

Theaters that were going to be a part of the re-release are apparently pulling it now.
My guess is that Paranormal Activity doing so well has a part to play.
