www.deadline.com/2010/09/rob-zombie-bewitched-by-lords-of-salem/He has been hinting at a new film, and this is the big announcement. The plot concerns a 300 year old group of witches terrorizing modern day Salem. For reference, Hocus Pocus has a very similar plot, right down to the 300 years and modern day Salem. However, I will give it a fair chance, as it is at least not a remake of any kind.

Or a sequel to remake, or associated with an ongoing franchise.
I just hope that the movie doesn't exist to show off his wife as the head witch and Sid Haig and Bill Mosely in main roles.

Love hurts oooooooooooooooo Love hurtsssssssss.
I wonder how many unrealistic rednecks and rejects and cussing will be in this one? And most importantly, what role will his very own wife play?
Go back to music Rob, movies aint Yo thang.

I haven't seen it but I was told what its about by somebody who did. Said its a red screen with a bunch of violence, no meaningful dialogue and that's . . . it.

I liked House of 1000 Corpes and Devil's Rejects. Rejects is definetly the better of the two, I love how we get a killers on the road movie, where they really are the focus and not the victims. Its not the kind of horror movie you see everyday.

House Of 1000 Corpses is a mess, but that isn't all Rob's fault, as there were MPAA and studio issues.
Rob made a wise choice not to remake The Blob, as he would just become "the remake guy" if he did.

Leave that to The Anti-Christ of Horror ( Bay). Anyhow I actually like Rob, granted H2 wasn't the best Halloween but I treat it like 3 now. I'm glad he's doing his own stuff again.

looking forward to it and glad he's sticking with horror. I think every one of his movies is at least watchable and thats more than I can say for many directors. I personally hope it's more like House of 1000 Corpses but that's just wishful thinking by me. I also hope that Bill Mosely is in it. No CGI and straight horror and I'll be happy though.

Sounds interesting to me. The idea is definitely grade a material imo.I'm not a fan of Zombies later movies, but house and rejects were great movies back in the day. Looking forward to Lords.

I'm a big fan of Witches. Since Wizard of Oz. I hope it's a witch like that. Not these new modern one's. I'm just glad he's back doing his own movies. I like H2 but hated H1. Grown to hate 1000 Corpses.
I'm hopeful unless he reuses the same cast.

The Simpsons did a few in their classic Treehouse of Horrors. That's all I know.

The only film that came close was Haxan a silent film from the 1920s, but no its a shame I remember reading about that movie a long time ago. It was very controversial at the time. Let's hope that Zombie doesn't remake it.

You should definetly check them out Leather, Rejects is a great horror film and House is a must for any TCM fan. It really has the same themes on many levels.
