You know, when ever I think about some of the Joker episodes from the animated series, it's really hard to picture that being Mark Hamill. Does anybody eles have that same feeling? I know, I always pictured Mark to be Luke Skywalker, lol. Its weird that Mark can change his voice to an extent.

I'm not all that surprised with all the attention he and the film got since he passed. Its fits though because if he was still here he probably would win one for a future role.

He was nominated for best actor for Brokeback Mountain as well, so yes, he would have won sometime down the road.

actually looking back on it now and comparing dark knight and batman 89. i'd say it's a close call between nicholson and ledger. the joker is suppose dto make you laugh even though you do not want to. don't get me wrong ledger was good but nicholson to me will always be the joker

While I consider Ledger to be the best Joker, I don't set aside all of the other portrayals, and they are very much valid in their respective films and series.

very true but at times in the dark knight i thought it wasn't the joker. i thought it was just some crazed out whackjob with makeup on. although i did like his appearance. for the most part

I just watched the Dark Knight again, and I can say my impression of it has dropped. I'm not sure if it's because of all this awards hype for the film, but I've gone from being entertained by Ledger's performance to tolerant of it.

i can never throw a dvd away....unless if it sucked. Dark knight was a good movie but it wasn't a good batman movie. it seemed as if this was just basically a cop film but with batman characters in it. it doesn't let you have fun or give you a gothic feel a sthe burton batmans did.

I am glad Ledger won the Golden Globes, the standing ovation was great. I know he will win the Oscars now, it is almost guaranteed after the globes. Not to mention Chris Nolen made a great speech for Heath.

Yes, let's hope that the Academy sees past the superhero theme and judges the film on more relevant merits.
If so, a precedent would be set.

I'm getting tired of The Dark Knight too, namely cause of all my friends wanting to watch it and I have set through it over and over again but I'll never throw it away! If I did that, my grandma well kill me! She paid almost $30 bucks on that damn thing and to my family $30 bucks is a lot for just a movie. Seriously I like it but I don't love it. I would never throw it away it's too damn good for that if anything "Batman & Robin" is too BAD for that! ;D

Heath did an amazing job in the film.I just wish the entire movie was made definitely.I would have loved to see a more Tim Burton approach to Ledgers character.

Burton took a more gothic approach to his films, which I quite enjoyed, as that dark atmosphere works well for Batman.
The Nolan-verse is dark but also gritty, and it is also a nice approach to the character.
The thing about the awards and nominations is that they aren't judging it as a Batman film, but just as a film, just as it should be.
