.....Its a remake. I see it as more of a Reimaging. When people say stuff like "Myers doesnt do stuff like that" Well, He just did. Im glad of the changes. Nothing suggests he kills his family because of abuse, neglect, whatever.

I definitely think that's what they were hinting at though Sandman. Why else would the scenes of abuse and neglect be put in the movie unless that's what the director was wanting us to think?

No one is telling anyone to like or dislike the movie.

all your points are the same things I thought where wrong with this film but also just to add that I didn't like Michael being so brutal. I think movies nowadays just make these guys like Michael and Jason look to unreal. you sit there watching it saying to yourself " how could that ever happen?" I can even understand Michael being shot numerous times and still going but when hes shot at least show it someway. it seemed whenever something happened to him he was never fazed by it, I'm surprised they didn't have him keep going after he was shot in the head, he just seems to me like he was like superman with a mask on

I agree with the "vintage Rob Zombie" part, most of his movies do seem A LOT alike.

I am downloading the workprint / directors cut now. As I really enjoyed the theatrical I'm sure I will enjoy this also.
I love the ending of the remake. It's so damn typical when it leaves it open for a sequel. As much as I love movies where the bad guys win, i also love it when a movie ends like this one also. As long as it doesnt remain a mystery. At the end of the original Halloween, it was a great way to end it for those times, now all movies end that way with twist included and that sucks.

Nope. At the moment, you can take the Weinstein quote seriously. That is what someone who works with the people at Dimension/Trancas said about their future plans for the series in relation to the statement that was made. www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=saw3.htmThis is why they didn't release it in October.

I was right on how much it would drop off the following weekend. It dropped 63 percent. Right now it's averaging less than a million a day during the week.

With trick or Treat and saw coming out in october,RZ's Halloween would have gotten slaughtered after the first weekend.

They should show JC's Halloween and RZ's Halloween in film schools across the globe.
To give aspiring film makers an opportunity to see the things not to do when "remaking a classic film". I could never watch RZ's Halloween again. I saw JC's Halloween again last night, and loved and appreciated everything (Master of Horror) Mr. John carpenter did.

It lasted as much as any other horror movie does nowadays. Good enough for me. They also never explained how he learned to drive in the original. I absolutely love the original as much as any movie but that was a lame reason Loomis gives, i always thought that. The swearing was not nearly as bad as everyhone makes it out to be, except for the stepdad in the first few minutes, it was like anything else.
If anyone can tell me that they were more disappointed in this movie than Land of the Dead, all I can do is shake my head cause LOTD was a giant turd and it was from a Master of Horror who started the whole thing himself.I wanted to love that movie, and it was just a damn shame.
My only complaint about the new one was it was not long enough so Halloween night itself was rushed along with any possible character development. They should have remade this movie and then come out with a prequel just like TCM The Beginning. That would have been perfect in my eyes.

The movie is now in sixth place with an estimated $5 million weekend, 83% less then its opening weekend and 50% less then last weekend.
Next weekend, Resident Evil 3 comes out, so the 424 theater cut this weekend will looks small to the one that will happen soon.

Spoilers*** **Laurie shooting Michael like that was the worst ending they could have come up with!
I agree the ending was not fantastic. But i think RZ was closing the bridge so there could not be any sequels to it. Other than that and the extremely long chase scene i thought it was pretty good. I was hoping Laurie would die and the movie would end. That would have been the best ending ever

They can get a sequel out of anything these days.
Regarding the ending, Zombie took his sweet time with the back story, totally rushed the remake portion and took his sweet time letting Michael play demolition man.
