I agree Kyle, in the spirit of the lost souls who would have enjoyed this, I will give this movie a half review at the very least. At least until I'm more up for getting really into it...
It was a decent movie. A lot slower than the previous releases in the trilogy. Less action than The Dark Knight. The soundtrack was much better however.
Bane was ok. His voice was really nice to hear in the beginning... really soothing. Although I couldnt make out what he was saying a lot of the time. By the time the football field scene happened his voice was sooooooooo annoying. Just before the prisoners escape he started to speak in this weird high pitched sequel which was really odd. I thought I was hearing a character out of a Dr. Suess book turned movie.
My assumptions on Ann Hathaway were completely wrong. This was probably the best role she has ever done. If anyone loves Julie Newmar as CatWoman from the 60's show they will definitely feel some nostalgia looking at Ann in some of those shots. The story was once again well written. It was nice to see all the flashback characters.
The last hour of this movie was really great.
* SEMI SPOILER * Highlight text below if you already watched this.
The final scene with Alfred was really an amazing one that topped off the whole movie.
I give this movie an 8.5

Comparable to Julie Newmar. Wow that's pretty cool to hear. Newmar is my favorite CW. I did like Pfeiffers quite a bit too. Halle Berry's on the other hand sucked a long veiny trouser trout. ;D

Halle Berry accepting her Razzie award was great.
As for me seeing this, it won't work out for a few reasons. First of all, the timing just isn't possible. Secondly, I still have my inner ear infection and resulting vertigo (boat rocking sensation), so an IMAX screen won't help.

this may come as a shock to many of you, but I actually prefer Hardy's Bane over Ledger's Joker.
A villian is a movie is suppose to be someone you hate and despise, someone who you root against and want the good guy to defeat. With Ledger's Joker we never got that. Yes he was very chilling and creepy but his character in TDK stole the spotlight from the protagonist's who where fighting aganist. Bane was so brutal and unforgiving, I actually found myself rooting against him throughout the movie. There's one scene in preticular that really sealed the deal of the character for me but I won't give anything away until more people have seen the movie.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the Joker, I just prefer Bane in TDKR even more
on a side note his voice wasn't too bad for me, although there where some scenes that I think they went a little overboard with, but I never got sick of hearing it
if you watch the 2nd trailer for the movie and hear his voice before they altered it, I wish they would have kept it that way

Im not sure Hardy should even be credited with "great acting". It was all fabricated. Am I wrong or were all his lines read in a sound booth much like a cartoon character? Can that really be considered great acting? He coulda done 20 takes for every scene for all we know. What was his great acting on screen? Fighting and walking around? There wasnt much of a challenge on the acting front. He gave no facial expressions nor do we know the process in which his lines were even delivered. I really doubt he truly talked during the scene like other actors. If he did those recordings werent used. If you liked him more than Joker Doomsday, it was most likely do to the writing not so much Hardy. What did he really delivery that any other actor couldnt have, given the circumstances of his altered voice?

i should have reprashed what I ment to say, I didn't prefer Hardy's acting over Ledger, just the character in the movie
no I totally agree with you Demon, as far as Bane goes and wearing a mask, there's not nearly as much acting involved

Very, very brilliant/ impressive Demon. I couldn't of even stated that nor come up with that in a proper fashion that fast. I'm not going to really get into anything that much to spoil others who did not get a viewing. I agree with what you said Doomsday, you make alot of interesting points with Bane. It was good to see the "Other Side" & feel, witness the destruction of Fear. I did love the Joker, & I do still now. He represented a whole other scenario which shaped the entire movie triggered by magnificent acting. I really enjoyed this Dark Knight Rises alot, I'll give it a 9. That will make you guess what I gave The Dark Knight. I'll write a proper review later on concerning the other actors, settings & "Batman" himself.

I just got back from seeing it and must admit that I thought it was fantastic and I wasn't bored at all. My only complaint would be I hated Bane's voice and you already know I despise Batman's voice. When they had dialogue together it was absolutely ridiculous and hilarious how stupid they both sounded. Catwoman stoled the show to me! I'll have to give the other two a chance sometime since I liked this one so much. I've only seen them once. I will give this a 4. It would be a five if their voices didn't sound so dumb. I find it really distracting.

funny I saw it again today but in IMAX and Bane was much easier to understand than when I saw it opening night, it must have been the smaller theater

I usually find that too. But then again you are talking about "IMAX" not some regular cinema around the corner that packs 15 people, no offense. I thought you had went to the IMAX for the screening Doomsday. 2x @ IMAX for me. A few friends of mine bought tickets and didn't now they had one for me, so Thursday night is another viewing....free of charge. Love the new Avatar & mostly the Sig by the way. Did you see the Ultimate Trilogy Trailer, was insane.

yea opening night I saw the trilogy of movies and they where all in digital and in a big theater, I just think with Imax the sound is so much more clear becasue the speakers are right on top of you, no background nosie to disort it

Bane sounded like a bad Sean Connerey impersonator doing an impression of Darth Vader if Lord Vader was punched in the testicles by The Incredible Hulk and Superman.

Cory said at the GPK Underground that Bane sounded like Sean Connery from the SNL Jeopardy skits.

Bane just wasn't really intimidating to anyone in my theater as opposed to Joker or Two-Face or even The Scarecrow. I mean Tom Hardy is a guy i'd never wanna throw down ( but he is incredibly nice so why would I wanna fight him) but the voice...I don't know, something about it doesn't sound right to me. I'm not saying it's the worst thing ever, but had they fine tuned it a bit more it would have been much better. Though I understood what he said for the most part.

I find Bane to be the most intimidating of them all, that is what made him so great for me, I don't understand why everyone is harping on the voice so much, I thought its what made the character as chilling and agressive as he was, especially in the first scene when he's in the plane and he has the mask over his head
