I know what you mean those were great, they added so much to the film that you don't realize until you go back and re-watch it several times. That kind of stuff is what most new horror is missing and they suffer for it.

My favorite horror film of all time.
Acting: Phenominal Writing: Even Better
This movie just kicks so much ass that I'm not going to bother writing a lot about it because i'd be here till the end of the superbowl.
Just a serioulsy bad ass movie. My favorite horror film ever

I just saw the most ridiculous complaint about this movie.
Some guy said that the sex between Judith and her boyfriend was too quick, so either they are a virgin or are ashamed of lasting 30 seconds their first time. ;D

This film never gets old.Just finished watching this for the billioth time tonight along with Tales from the crypt season 4.Even though they remade this classic movie, there's really no need to get all upset if you hated the remake.I'm just glad that John Carpenter created what Michael Myers is today.JC's Halloween will never die or fade out. I guess i feel more connected with JC's Halloween because it takes place during a time i feel more comfortable in.From 2000 and up,things went to hell in my opinion.

Love you bro, just watched Halloween Documentary on the Bio Channel! Truly the one movie you can possibly compare to PSYCHO (my fav franchise) Halloween changed my life.... PSYCHO changed it again... nothing since... eh after Halloween Friday the 13th did... it brought me and all of us CLAD... then PSYCHO... truly great stuff we'll remember till we close our eyes that one last time.

Listening to the soundtrack for this with the actual movie dialogue in it and figured I'd drop a few lines about the film, even though I probably did some pages back.
I was reading Abraxas' last post in this and got to thinking about how Halloween is still effective for me despite the extreme familiarity I have with it. The same scenes gives me the chills as well as the score, even though I listen to the score by itself when not watching the movie. I have no idea how much I've watched this film since that first viewing oh so long ago (1993, 1994? when I was 8 or 9 and really getting into horror?), but it's been a lot and it has remained unchallenged as my favorite film of all-time. It's such a cliche pick, but it is truly a masterpiece in every facet of film making in my eyes.
I'm 26 but I'm starting to feel old. Believe it or not, many young people don't find this film effective at all. People my age even. Boredom is the most common complaint. It's unfortunate. Film making has changed so much over the years and in terms of horror, not many bother trying to build suspense and it's all about the quick hits and grabs. I'm sure this is how people felt during the transition of Universal and Val Lewton films to more visceral stuff like the Hammer films and then Psycho, and so on and so on...but it's a little disheartening and sobering when it actually starts happening to you first hand.

I completely understand what you mean jlaw! I show Halloween to two 20yr old girls in 2002 and they said it was too slow.
This video will cheer you up! Listen to the song they used in this commercial!
